Pop UI Sound Effect (FOG2 and FOG Empires)

Post by Carthage777 »

Hello! I was wondering if there was a way to either remove or mute the popping UI sound effect when clicking in the menus of FOG2. Is it possible to remove that sound from the game, or mute it, without muting the in game combat sound effects?

There is already a quieter click in the game files, but I am not sure if there is a way to make the game use it without altering any files in the game build. I will ask Pip.

The sounds files are in /Data/Sounds in the game build

If I recall correctly, the main click sound is

click.wav

but there is a quieter one called

Click2.wav

Modding these will not affect MP, so if you go into your main game build you can:

1) Make a backup of click.wav as backupclick.wav
2) Copy Click2.wav
3) Rename the copy to click.wav

See if that works better for you.

Thanks for the replies! I ended up deleting both just to get rid of the noise completely.

Thanks for the help! I wasn't sure before whether or not I should mess with the files.

Normally you shouldn't, but you are fairly safe with sound effects.
