Re: Pike and Shot: next team event
I'm happy with any scenario you choose Alan. I have no problem fighting against the odds...it's more satisfying for a desperate attempt that pays off, or indeed a valiant defeat. From the banter, it appears the English have it tough in the early years and the Scottish in the final marshy field of Culloden. At the same time, Jacobites (1689) against 'Williamites in Scotland' (1689) makes for a great game from memory.

I am playing a couple of Cullodens at the moment as the Scots, will let you know how I get on.GDod wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 10:27 amAgainst a player, I believe it's a hard one to win as the Scots Brian. Very historical though. I've won as Scottish against the AI but never against a player. Is the scenario very unbalanced ?
There is , or was last time I looked, a couple of Open Challenges up for Culloden if anyone is interested.

I'll give it another good all black try Brian and try and prove myself wrongThere is , or was last time I looked, a couple of Open Challenges up for Culloden

16/7 I've just played against the AI and won yet again as Jacobite. I also stand corrected I think... I've won against a player by allowing the English to attack the hill...but I don't think that would work twice! I'll report again after our current friendly match is completed.
20/7 the Jacobites are doing exceedingly well in both matches... I think maybe it's a more even match than memory serves...

If you still opened for players can I join in? I don't mind Scottish or English as either way half of my ancestors will be upset!

I would like to join in, prefer playing the Scot underdogs. Probably lose but feel good about siding with the underdogs.

Good, Dave, welcome back. Consider yourself a bagpipe wielding Highlander.

21/7 One up for the Scots... I hereby rescind my initial observation!
