Weekly round-up
A victory for harveylh (Berber Morabit) over close rival ericdoman1 (Irish) has seen him move to the top of Division A. His remaining match is against Nosy_Rat (Andalusian), who is now the only player who can stop him winning the championship. Snugglebunnies (Papal) could still finish second if he wins his last match against ConstantinIX (Berber Almohad). Geffalrus (Tuareg) has moved back to the top of Division B after a win in his last match, but his total of 24 points is likely to be overtaken by both CyberHetman (Berber Murabit) and Triarii (Portuguese), who both still have 100% records. Another new leader in Division C where Captainwaltersavage (German) registered a sixth victory to go 4 points clear of Warg1 (English) and 8 points clear of kraff (Sword Brethren), who has 4 matches still to play. 2 wins for Marvin_The_Arvn (German) this week has kept him in with a chance of overhauling TaBai's (Castilian) very tough target of 31 points in Division D. Marvin_The_Arvn can still reach 33 points and Kroche (English) has a 100% record after 3 matches and can still reach 36 points. There is nothing to report from Division E as most of the matches are already completed.

Great game, a few more turns and one of would have got to 60, but which one who can tell.

Division A

Geffalrus (Antigonids) and tyronec (Old Romans) viciously tie each other 45-53

Excellent skirmishing by the Romans resulted in some desperate cavalry charges by the Antigonids to relieve the pressure on the flanks. Cavalry charges are inherently chaotic affairs, and the Antigonid cavalry found themselves trapped and mobbed to death by hoplites and frustratingly un-crappy Roman horse. As the flanks slowly fell apart, the central phalanx surged forward and managed to kill enough hoplites to prevent a defeat, but not enough to gain victory. The true heroes of the battle, however, were some Roman armored hoplites who initially chased some noble cavalry into range of the royal pike guard, and were promptly routed for their troubles. BUT. THEY. WERE. NOT. DONE. Two turns later they rallied in range of some Antigonid cavalry sneaking around to eventually flank the hoplites. "Ho ho, easy prey" said the cavalry. The fragmented hoplites held firm.......and then rallied to disrupted the next turn. At which point the Roman cavalry arrived to flank and rout the Antigonid horse. The hero hoplites then marched over to ZOC lock the royal guard and prevent them from making a key flank. The veteran pikes routed them a second time, but the hero hoplites had bought valuable time that prevented the Antigonid pike phalanx from gaining crucial momentum.
