First of all, I would like to thank all my opponents - all games over past three weeks have been fun!
As for the tourney overall - I haven't lived through something nearly as messy in a long time and you can pull my name from the big tourney because I can't imagine living though it for nine months.
Between, people getting 2000 points for not playing to people not getting points for early wins to not being able to watch opponents turn - this is a shitshow of insane proportions for a franchise so well know...
...Yes, I am all pissy because instead of reaching for a podium, I have (quite unintentionally) won the game in round 13 to a big yellow fuck you, no points for you...

I just wanted to post something similar - I won my axis game in round 12 and I am getting 4xx points???? Shouldnt in this cases the winner get all the remaining round points, all killed unit points as well as a boni for achieving targets early. Especially Barbarossa was in the end all of speed, catching targets fast, create pockets etc. - instead it is a better play-style to do WW1 style trench-warfare in this tournament - rolling on slow, destroying each damn bunker even if not in your way and wait for the last target to be taken in the end round. As an Axis player you should motivate them to live Blitzkrieg - not to slow down by purpose to get more points.tkrysiak wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:58 am First of all, I would like to thank all my opponents - all games over past three weeks have been fun!

I would have got more points by not taking all the victory fields at all but playing to round 20.
I hope this point-issue will be solved for the tournament.
Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
Another bug for the list:
I received a bot email last night saying my game/round is complete. Yet the multiplayer , tournament page says there is 22 hours left in the game. The same thing happened in round 2. Had I not checked I would have missed a couple moves and several points.
I am concerned my opponent will get the same email and not check in.
Slitherine has a lot of work to do before another Tourney is ready for prime time.

Is anyone else getting the "querying players" timeout with "failed to connect to TCP server" Today? Been trying to finish the other game since this morning, restarted the PC, Steam, game - each time same error after clicking play?
@PAK_Paule - Sorry dude, I'm tryin here
EDIT: Finally managed to connect after several attempts...

Can you guys imagine doing that for 18 rounds/9 months in current state?Fudwuppel wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 2:26 pm-That also happened to me. I quit the game, then restarted it. Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
I, too, wish to congratulate and thank my opponents for playing hard fought and well played games. We finished all three games before the end of the rounds. Communication was pretty good, compared to what I've read here.
I have learnt much from playing these guys. This was my first tournament and I don't feel bad about where I will place because all three of my opponents will finish in the top 15.
Kudos to Gilead, Lorddumm and Ted1710. Thanks for the games.

Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
I had noticed that this only happened to me when I had the game open for a long time. When I quit the game after moves, then restarted it when it was my turn, I didn't see that error.
Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
Yes, i understand you, i also do not like to play a ww1 Sceanrio, killing every bunker for points,....or even every little flak,....sometimes it´s better being fast and outflanking enemies!!!GraftMalt wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 9:30 amI just wanted to post something similar - I won my axis game in round 12 and I am getting 4xx points???? The point system is for me not possible to understand!!!
It is a disappointing, that you get a penalty for being fast and ...other that kill every unit are getting a plus!!! thats not what a Blitzkrieg was!!!
It should be more important and more points on taking the targets,....killing units? i do not give a cent on!!! when it´s not necesary it´s wasting time and speed!!!
and even it takes the fun when it is the same if you win or loose, only importance is that you kill enough,....thats not the strategic deepness of that game that i like, and why i play it!!!
Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
This does not have to be so hard. We do not need a point system. It is fraught with problems. Apply a bracket strategy. Winners and losers decided by the given scenario’s victory conditions (just as in the current multiplayer mode). ‘No shows’ are eliminated and their opponents move on to the next round. Easier on all stakeholders including Slitherine. 100 entrants gets 6ish rounds.
Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
While I was waiting for my opponents' turns for three weeks, I had an idea of how to make multiplayer better. I think this can help resolve conflicts in tournament systems, maps, scoring and balances.

Re: Discuss the Path to 1942 Tournament here
I have been playing this game for about 18 months but this has been my first Tournament / multiplayer experience and I am hooked on this great game.
The only negative part is the waiting for your turn and not knowing if your playing 1 turn or a few. In future i encourage players to communicate with there opponent by the chat box regarding best play time. We all live in different time zones and have work and family commitments so so a bit of compromising between each other is good. There has been suggestions of a qualifying round before the world championship so maybe as part of the introduction or tournament rules the organizers could encourage opponents to express to each other there best playing times. Look forward to the World championships

Panzercorps 2 game needs a patch to inform us when our opponent is chating us. As of now there is no notification, we have to check all the time.brianjones17 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 1:10 pm I have been playing this game for about 18 months but this has been my first Tournament / multiplayer experience and I am hooked on this great game.

Not sure if this was answered but BYE is not a player - it is a when there are an odd number of players, one always gets a BYE or free win. They get a large win to avoid penalising them for their opponent not turning up. If your opponent doesn't play and you do you get also get a large win, again to avoid penalising you for your opponent not turning up.Fudwuppel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 5:46 pmI'm pretty sure BYE wouldn't pass through a qualifying tournament. He never plays.tkrysiak wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 4:49 pmGood question, same thing happened on day 1 of round 2 to another player but I couldn't find player BYE.
