Kerait - Moorish 350-698 AD with Byzantine 493-550 AD allies defeats MarcoCato75 - Roman 285-312 AD with Arab (Bedouin) 300-636 AD allies 61-51.
The slow and heavy Roman army showed deft maneuvering skills, managing to surround and destroy both the Moorish core of lancers and irregular foot. However, the Moorish swarms of light cavalry and javelinmen whittled down the Romans mercilessly, entirely annihilating their vulnerable cavalry. When the Praetorian Guard marched into a patch of rough ground and was surrounded and massacred by fierce Moorish tribesmen, it was the straw that broke the camel's back. The Moorish light troops carried the day.
Good game to Marco Cato. The way he trapped my horse archers and lancers was pretty terrifying, despite the ultimate hard victory.

Geffalrus (Tuareg) defeats SLancaster (His Holiness) 44-19
Yet another large stream bisected the map the Tuareg had to fight on. Learning from their disastrous encounter with the Normans, the Tuareg forded the stream on the far flanks with Tuareg foot and trapped the mass of Papal infantry in a concave. Some lucky charges against raw spears and crossbows opened some holes into which a steady stream of camels poured. Smelly, smelly camels. Good game to my opponent.
Just an absurd number of camels.

Division D for Destined
Barrold713 (Rus) defeats LunarFoxx (Vikings) 48-19
An amazing finale for this one. A damaged but eager lancer unit broke into the rear of the Vikings and the cascading combats took the game from a 6 point deficit to victory with several units breaking and routing. One of those turns that validates every hour put into the game.
Thanks for the match

Triarii - Portugese 1200-1319 AD with Berber (Marinid) 1244-1319 allies (1600) defeats (just) Geffalrus – Tuareg 950-1500 AD (1200) 61-52
The match against Geffalrus last season was a high point - a great game when he edged me out.
This one was equally good - Knight and skirmish heavy Portugese (who brought their allies smelly camels too) were (only just) too strong in the end for the absurd number of camels and MI.
Notable too for the ending resembling a game of wack-a-mole as Tuaregs rallied at three of 4 distant corners of the compass. Very disconcerting when knights are lumbering around.
A fortuitous pursuit by Portugese camels sweeping up a rallied unit finally decided the matter.
Many thanks to Geffalrus for another great game.

A victory that wouldn't have happened if dice had been more equal.
That's my final game in the LA division so thanks very much to my opponents

Barrold713 (Ancient British) defeats MarcoCato75 (Roman) 64-35
It is always satisfying when a plan of action actually works out. I used my lights to wipe out the cav massed on my left and used my cav on the right to get around a formidable line that included Praetorian guard units. Flank and rear attacks including chariots took the starch out of some stellar units and lead to a general rout.
Thanks for the match.

Kroche (English 1155-1271AD) defeated ulysisgrunt (Tuareg 950-1500 AD) 64-35
A very close match fought all across the desert. English right flank smashed by camel lancers supported by Tuareg warriors, English spears in the centre stopping the Tuareg attack there and English knights, with numbers in their favour on the left, holding their nerve (unlike their armchair general) to defeat the camel force guarding the Tuareg right and claim victory. Surviving forces from both sides earned their pay (except English mounted crossbowmen who really didn't fancy clashing with the camels). Thanks to ulysisgrunt for an exciting match.
