More information in MP mail?

It could show a running total of the time spent in each player's in-box so far.

Maybe that information could be added too in the email?

This (i.e., a running total of time spent in each player's in-box) would be great if added to the email as well, in addition to the opponent's name. Yes, I know I'm a p-i-t-a, but I really want this to get implemented.

I agree with the above, particularly that the opponent should be identified in the email. Don't know why this hasn't always been so.

No as it is being assimilated into the Slitherine fold there is discussions about using pbem++

Currently the whole CM range allows pbem via file transfer between the players using say Dropbox. This works well and the players get to keep the files so you get to see the turns again and again until you decide to delete the files.

The upside for using pbem++ is one central place for finding players.

There will no doubt be plenty of headaches trying to shoe horn the two systems together and it might even not happen if too difficult? We will see when Slitherine starts selling Cold War...

Oki, I see. Then I instead hope for more swift development and improvement of the PBEM++ emails rather than waiting for that massive task you mentioned.

Since information was removed from emails in January, hopefully it's just as easily added back; the one originally removed plus more (as per above).

You're right: got three turns back to me after midnight but no e-mails for them. But as late as 11 PM (my Stockholm time), I received an email (regarding FoG2:Medieval) with the new, more informative layout.

Maybe they're just testing it at the moment. But now we know that it's in the process and that it seems to work, which is good. The mail I copied above was about starting a game. The other mails about running games that I've received have also been included the turn in question.

I haven't had emails for Ancients, but have for Medieval. I am guessing they are still working on it. I will enquire.

Thanks Richard I guess at that too but the lack of any Tech response is not what I would call professional (forgive me for not calling your response as tech unless you count yourself as 1st line support?)

Usually you manage a release to let your customers know what you are planning and when you plan to do it... Is there a place in these forums on that?

I am pleased they are trying to improve the messages, I am less pleased with being treated as a mushroom, a small amount of friendly communication goes a long way to keeping customers happy ...

But perhaps I expect too much?

Possibly. Slitherine is a fairly small company.

I have worked for small and large companies and release management and working with peoples expectations is a fairly straight forward task that does not add too much overhead and wins the IT team a lot of Customer Credit.

Perhaps those in charge might look at it as a Win Win to implement at some stage...

Anyway my days of driving improvements are over and I just get miffed when easy and straight forward things are not done by companies I interact with.
