Denied Artillery Option

I just want to make sure i understand. if you play a campaign with this option, you can't purchase new artillery units. but can you upgrade units in reserve? if you capture artillery or are awarded prototypes, hidden enemy caches, etc, are those ubits then available to you? thanks oh, if I left out anything, please lmk.

Denied Artillery removes all normal purchase/upgrade from your purchase/upgrade menu, you can only purchase/upgrade from Prototype or Captured artillery pools (not sure about overstrengthing a normal artillery unit).
If you play with Denied Artillery in one AO and don't play with it in the next AO with that imported core, the first mission of next AO will still have Denied Artillery applied to it. Same for Denied Airforce.

when you mentioned the denied artillery carrying over, do you recall if when you select the Denied Option for a new campaign with imported core, if the denied artillery is not instituted for the first battle?

iirc they are applied to the first scenario.

I have noticed recently that with "Denied Artillery" you can no longer upgrade to a higher OS. I had a SU 152 mm gun, and even though I had enough extras to OS it back to 13 from 10, it would not let me. (I had reduced it in a previous map to 10 for slot reasons.) You can set it to whatever you like if you upgrade it to another type, like I changed it to a 122mm and then back to the 152mm at OS 13. That worked. It did not happen before, so I think it is something new that was implemented.

Furthermore, during the Beta I wasn't able to reinforce my Wurf40 from AO40 with replacements, even after it became available for purchase (normally w/o Denied Artillery). I was forced to use my only Field Repair hero on it to replace any loses. So something has changed and I am not entirely sure if I've discovered all of the ins and outs of it just yet.
