A very friendly game with Devoncop. It's a pleasure to play with him. See you soon on other battlefield sir.
Captainwaltersavage - German Imperial 1200-1319 AD defeats Conteshard - Kingdom of Sicily 1200-1266 AD 40:9
A fairly open battlefield with a very nice patch of rough on my left flank meant that I could fill the rough ground with crossbows, suported by some spears. My centre was a mix of spears and foot knights and my right flank was a horde of knights. The Sicilians decided to move to their left to confront the German knights with their own host of pavissiers and crossbows. With Sicilian knights on both flanks it started to look a bit tricky. The German knights took route 1 and charged the enemy and just went straight at them. The crossbows brought down quite a few knights but the majority got through the barrage and hit the pavissiers. Most of them bounced off but enough disruptions occurred to start the destruction. When the spears and dismounted knights from the centre arrived it was only ever ending one way. When the Teutonic knight managed to charge some archers it started a chain rout as knights started breaking units and charging everything in sight. The Sicilians did break my right flank and were setting up to flank my knights in the centre but too many units were broken and the Sicilian army retired for an early bath.
