British Ships hunting my planes

I am replaying AO 1940 and 1941, and I've noticed that British ships can now move and attack my planes in their turn. It was a minor irritation during the British scenarios, but it makes Crete absolutely brutal, if you escort your paratroopers with your fighters, there are many British ships with strength 14, and at least one strength 20 battleship, and each of those does 4-5 damage to a fighter, which makes it impossible to keep my air force alive. Galland, Bar, etc. all die within the first 3-4 turns. Even when I spent extra turns to land the paratroopers by trying to avoid the fleet, the ships come to the shore, and instead of bombarding my land forces, they attack my planes (which have been rebased in Crete). They even attack them if I leave them in the original airfields in mainland Greece. I don't recall this happening the last couple of times I played the campaign, is it a bug, a gameplay change, or did I just get really lucky the previous times?

We have a "Major-Malfunction" here!... this looks like to be a necessity for a "Kerensky-Intervention_Re-Engineering-Moment".

What you have indicated "Gfot"... is obviously a heavily distorted situation... that needs to be immediately corrected.

Thank you Gfot for the exact description of the awful situation - had the same issue while replaying those scenarios.

The same happened in SeaLion - just brutal AA Ships aggressively hunting my aircraft...

You are playing with the Naval AA mode mod made by R2G2, I guess.

No, the only mod I've ever downloaded is PzC 1 GC, and never got around to actually playing it. I did look up the R2G2 mod you mentioned, and is says it changes ships to attack planes with range of 1, the "AA Battleships" attack me from their normal range.

Hi - good idea - the mods may cause it.

I use the following mods from the Steam Workshop page:

- SCW no AI ally
- The Big Red One
- The Taman Warriors
- PanzerCorps 1 - Grand Campaign

I am not using the mods of R2G2 - so no Naval Anti-Air or Ranged Destroyers mod (and had it never activated) - there should not be any "unwanted" hidden remnants.

Maybe someone can investigate this...

Thanks for clarifying. I assumed you were talking about my Naval AA mod in the last discussion about Naval combat , but I still reduced the air attack range to 1 hex based on your feedback.

This might be a bug. Capital ships have a passive air attack stat in the Unit.csv, so it shouldn't be possible. I don't see anything in the scenario Lua file that would allow it either.

Yeah, I checked the units spreadsheet, the British ships shouldn't be able to attack planes. I also unsubscribed from the PzC 1 GC mod and verified integrity of game files, but there were no files that needed to be reinstalled, and I didn't see a change in behavior. Full reinstall will probably fix it, but I didn't go that route.
