Division C
edb1815 Italian (Ghibelline) with German (Imperial) allies defeats SpeedyCM - Papal with Italian (Guelf) allies 60-58
A historic match up saw a back and forth battle that looked to be going the Pope's way in the end. A mistake by the Italian commander looked to have defeat assured but the Papal knights were out on the other flank with no one near to charge. On the other flank the dismounted Italian knights and Low countries spearmen finished off some worn down pavsiers and the battle swung the other way on the last turn. Frustrating for SpeedyCM as I sat on 58% for several turns. Well played.

Re: Tournament News and Diary . . .
I have done a MP lobby check today. Not too bad at all. Just 7 matches more than a week old in there, so I have sent PM's to try and get them started.

Death by javelin, in a nutshell. Good game. I do apologise for the annoying army list.

Re: Any questions?
I think I understand. I was thinking in terms of world cup soccer where the top couple teams from each group move on to compete in a single-elimination round. Instead, we are fighting to move up the leader boards with Division A representing the best players. Is that correct?stockwellpete wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 6:47 pm It is just a basic league, apart from the Themed Event. Players complete their 9 or 10 games and we get a final table. The top player is always automatically promoted and any player who gets 7 wins or more and doesn't come top is a candidate for "discretionary promotion" and will quite often go up as well. Similarly, at the bottom of the table, the very bottom player is always relegated and any player who wins 2 games or less and does not come bottom is considered for discretionary relegation. This happens rather less often than discretionary promotions as there is a longer term tendency for regular players in the tournament to drift upwards as some top players do not return for another season.
And if that is true, how do you account for some people playing in just one era (e.g. high middle ages) and another player playing in all of the eras?

Yes, that is it.CaptainPunka wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 7:50 pm Instead, we are fighting to move up the leader boards with Division A representing the best players. Is that correct?

Players have different amounts of time available to play the game. We also provide regular rankings here where performances are measured over the last 3 seasons (latest posted on 27/4) . . .And if that is true, how do you account for some people playing in just one era (e.g. high middle ages) and another player playing in all of the eras?
