So we come to the end of Round 3, with a narrow victory for the Habsburgs who continue their fine record.

This leaves just one opportunity for the German states and their allies to win a round. Onward we go to the final game.

For the purpose of starting the next round assume ours is a draw. We have ten rounds or so left (I am behind), I am not sure if Gdod intents on finishing them, I'm fine with it either way.
We're playing it out slowly but it's going nowhere. Artillery has been exchanging fire and little else apart from the odd unit breaking and running back to the lines. Little commitment for an all out attack from either side as both are occupying defensive positions and both are reluctant to leave. The first to do so will surely be either blow apart by massed heavy artillery and dispatched by Tercio's, or subjected to fire from a central hill and flanking woods.

At dusk, a flurry of activity and an all out assault by both sides saw a final count as 10 to 25 in favour of our brave persecuted Huguenots. As night fell we had a hearty meal of millet and salted jerky, which was washed down with a quantity of ale the Hapsburg's abandoned as the retired from the field...small recompense for standing all day in the heat of the day enduring a Hapsburg barrage from a seeming endless supply of cannon shot. Nevertheless, we retain the field for the cause and shall see what the morrow brings.
