It is possible to dd Galland and Rudel to the original campaign, it just takes a little work.
Just like importing SCW army only a little harder.

The AimAssit Hero does help Art if units are properly placed.

Even with the significantly slower experience gains in AO, recons can hit 2.5 stars in 3 scenarios w/o relying on heroes; these can then be converted to 1.5 star tanks. Admittedly this requires some rather gamey tactics, but c'est la vie.

On a related note, the accuracy bonuses provided are all static (with the exception of the base accuracy boost for recons, which is tied to the current strength of the unit) and stack additively. Unlike with some other abilities, you can't double dip by splitting a recon to double the bonuses. As basic recons cost 2 core slots, the most cost-efficient approach is generally to run them at 11 strength (12 for recon planes). Given how important accuracy is there's a decent argument for running Deep Recon in SCW at least, as any power player will go heavy on recons anyway, and 2 11-strength recons provide a base 32% bonus with it, which is quite an improvement when your units are rocking a mere 50% base accuracy.

A few scenarios in, you'll have your 1-star tanks with a base accuracy of 60%, and with the second-string recons being at least 1-star units you're then looking at a 98% accuracy, close enough to 100% to be considered reliable. It's a useful thing to keep in mind if you're not playing Hero Corps.

Drop the attitude please, its not acceptable here.

There are plenty of reasons to want to deeply understand the mechanics if you are a fan of challenge runs and piling up negative traits, it can make the difference in a difficult campaign.

There are probably 10 to 20 non Devs who can do it so don't feel so bad.
Does make me wonder about Rudel in SCW though  .

That is with two 11-strength recons and Deep Recon (part of the argument for using that trait in SCW), as each recon will provide a (11 + 5 = 16) 16% bonus, and as they all stack additively the two of them together provide a 32% bonus to accuracy, which'll give a tank an 82% accuracy rating rather than the base 50%.

Once all the units involved have 1 star of experience, that goes up to 98%, as the recons provide an additional 3% per level and the tank itself gains 10% to its base accuracy.

It's a fairly straightforward process of copying parts of the lua scripts and adding them to the campaign scenarios in question. If you want to have, say, Galland, Rudel, Elsa and co in the Wehrmacht campaign that's probably the easiest way to do it. That's what I did during the '41 beta to add Galland to my test core.

I did get called an fing moron before I responded in the way I did..That's apparently ok.. If the question was all about mechanics. Why hasn't there been a definitive answer? How many different ways with how many different units can a campaign game be won? It was never a question about mechanics when there is no right or wrong way to play...

Yay, playing any wargame by gut instinct rather than by dry mathematics is the best way to go, I flunked maths at school but it hasn't stopped me doing okay in the gaming ladders over the years.. 8)

For a 0 star recon unit, you get 1 accuracy bonus per strength of that unit. That means, if your recon has 10 strength, it provides 10 accuracy, if it has only 1 strength left, it only provides 1 accuracy bonus. Over strength or splitting applies to the same rule. Experience level increases the accuracy bonus per strength. I am not sure how aiming assistance work, but I assume it works similarly.
