Stop using the automatic train/truck movement for some units. Number of times I've not paid attention to rail/road and found myself moving where a train/truck should not be. OK my fault but I bet I'm not the only one.

Been there, done that. Save often! It can be hard to see the transport symbols on the map. They need higher contrast.

Yep, many times i moved my inf to frontline but in trucks....
its most common fault, especially in large map.

Yep, exactly what I experienced several times. They need a better visual hint, maybe color or contrast as Pwnerade said.

It's stored in the \Graphics\Markers\atlas.tga file. You can try to change it yourself.

I didn't like the quasi-equality of the truck and train symbol, so I've changed it inside my mod.
