Re: Modding Flags
Rudankort is working on it we just need to wait.
Re: Modding Flags
Yes I know but it's the end of the year he is probably having some time for himself after working the entire year on the game. And we must not forget that he is going out of his way to create this alpha version of the mod.
As I said in a previous post, I intend on recreating a "historical flag project" in the likes of the one we have for panzer corps I. We just need the tools to do it but until those arrive we must rely on Rudankort.

Re: Modding Flags
is a flag mod really a priority at this time of the year?
Re: Modding Flags
Im not sure if it's a big priority but myself and others would definitely like to have the historical flags, that's why Im "engaged" on this mod. After all it will be much more fun to play the Big Red One and the Taman Warriors with the enemy having his correct flagWookieeDavidson wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 10:41 pm is a flag mod really a priority at this time of the year?

Re: Modding Flags
I understand your point, but at this moment in time its New Years, people are spending time with loved ones, so have a little patience
Re: Modding Flags
Yep that's what I said in a previous post. Happy new year to everyone here.WookieeDavidson wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 12:36 pmI understand your point, but at this moment in time its New Years, people are spending time with loved ones, so have a little patience

We are eagerly waiting ...
Re: Modding Flags
Very eagerly waiting ...

Re: Modding Flags
In my opinion, the MOD is no longer coming, unfortunately.....
Re: Modding Flags
The mod will come.
It will take a while because Rudankort is probably busy with the new 1941 dlc and does not have time to work on the flags.
We cannot work on the flags because we have no tools for it so let us all be patient.
Re: Modding Flags
Ummmm update?
Re: Modding Flags
When we're talking about new flags, please make also preparations for new nations/flags/faction signs that are guaranteed to be needed for new mods or campaigns, such as China or Abyssinia. To create these new nations, some new files have to be defined as .uassets and build in into the game. For this you need knowledge of the Unreal Engine (downloadable from Epic), maybe additional changes of the pc2.exe?
What I don't understand why it takes so long. At least it would be nice if someone from the developer team gave an answer. Otherwise it is demotivating for the players ... if the same questions are asked over and over again without getting an answer.

Re: Modding Flags
what would they say anyway? It's obviously not high enough on their list to be classed as a priority.
Re: Modding Flags
It's that different sometimes ... at least the developers should listen to the fan base from time to time.
My top priority would be a nearly bug-free base game with new features ... well before a new DLC.

Re: Modding Flags
I've made a set of historical German flags (the so-called "Party Flag") — a unit HUD flag, a shop flag and a map flag. They work in the game. Not sure if that's enough for a separate mod (that's why I'm posting it here, since a bunch of guys were interested in having historical flags), but maybe I'll make it one day. In my opinion, there should be three options available — Party Flag, State Flag and War Flag. This archive contains Party Flag and backup files just in case. If you like it, I'll probably do the other options a bit later.
Installation: just throw all the files from the archive folder you need (Historical Flag or Backup) into your Panzer Corps 2 core folder (like Steam\steamapps\common\Panzer Corps 2\PanzerCorps2).
Note: there's a slight issue with the unit HUD flag, because it's inverted for the unit on the 'opposite' (right) side. So in this case the swastika would be inverted, too. There is no way to prevent it until having some symmetrical symbol like the vanilla Balkenkreuz. If you consider this a problem, just don't add hud_unit_flag_de assets from the archive to your game files, they would stay default (invertion-safe) in this case.
