what is your philosophy on
productive captured units that have been part of your core but r now running out of replacements? especially Tanks like the Char 2 where there will be no further battles where i can capture replacements. do you wait until they are totally depleted then upgrade/change the unit so you keep the units EXP? or do you disband the unit when its say at 10 or less for prestige? when you disband a unit do you lose both the commander and what's left of the unit? thanks

I never would disband an experienced unit. Good material is easy to get, but experience takes a long time to build. I just give it another sort of material instead.
In general I wouldn't sell the material unless there is virtually no prestige left. Mostly I would just let the remaining captured material sit around, putting it in a museum so to speak
Not quite sure what you mean with commander. Are you talking about the heroes?
If yes, you can remove them before you disband the unit. Not sure what happens to them if you disband the unit while you have assigned them to it, but there isn't much of a reason to find out anyway.

Well, i just upgrade prototypes if possible. Real cool units like the char-2 move to reserve in the hope of a "field-repair" heroscorehouse wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:26 pm productive captured units that have been part of your core but r now running out of replacements?
Like Geroge_Parr i wont disband them. If i find myself in a situation where im runnig out of prestige and might need it, i would disband everything but no "unique" unit like the char " (or the other cool stuff like verdeja).
I finished my last playthrough 15 minutes ago, my char 2 got skill a lot of replacements left this time

same as people stated before me i use them if i see them useful at that moment, when i run out of parts i preserve them as trophy's of war i try too have one of every enemy equipment, that got me in some sticky situations during some play troughs hahaha

Re: what is your philosophy on
by commander i should have said unit EXP
Re: what is your philosophy on
I dont think exp is a "big deal" in the grand campaign. There are a lot of training missions and helpful heros to raise the exp of a new and green unit. Most of my units are "exp capped" at the end of an ao campaign. And i usually switch them with reserve units to keep my army balanced (unless i have real prestige issues and no real reserve).
So i still wouldnt upgrade a unique unit just to safe the "exp" if there is any other possibilty.
