DLC's with Ironman

Post by David Hansen »

Anybody playing a campaign with the ironman option?
Yes, I am aware of clicking the wrong mouse button issue.
I've played through the entire vanilla campaign tree, so I am fairly experienced with PC2.
Pro's and con's with IM as I get ready to start the AO dlc's.

Man, it's your time and nerves (if you made a dumb mistake and have to replay from the scratch), especially if you use 100% random vs more intense / more fun gameplay
I dont do Ironman because I dont have enough time

I also think that this is mainly a time question.

Ive got a full time job. No way Im gonna play Ironman.
On the forums of Battle Brothers (best game ever made) this discussion comes up often.
Pro arguments are, that you get the most memorable experiences if u escape near certain death and win against all odds. It is way more tense if u know that your whole campaign is on the line.

Also, many people get joy from just trying. They dont care if they win in the end. Which is fair.

Its not for me. I want to be able to beat endgame encounters and have all the cool stuff. Be it Panzer Corps or Battle Brothers.
With Ironman I need either a great amount of luck or a great amount of time. And I usually have neither of those lol
