please explain deuce
you have a captured unit in the field that is getting low on strength. you don't have any more units left in reserve to restore power but you have made it a supply hex. if you upgrade the unit, will what's left of the unit go into the captured pool until you can capture more of the same to get 10 plus units so you can redeploy the unit {not necessarily in the current battle but in the future} or do you lose the unit forever? speaking of the 203 heavy artillery to be exact. it was 10 now down to 5 and i don't want to lose the unit. thanks
Re: please explain deuce
The points you have left over go back into the captured units subsection of your purchasing screen. Thats the good news, the bad news being I don't think you find anymore 203s until the 1941 DLC.
Re: please explain deuce
The '21 cm Mrs 18' has identical stats and is available before Poland with unlimited replacements.
As long as you are not on 'Denied Art' you can upgrade to 21cm any time after Czech scenario in AO39.

There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.

that's what i did. when do you get the opportunity to capture more KV2's? love that tank
Re: please explain deuce
+1 Ammo over the Soviet gun to be exact.
But otherwise the issue I mentioned in the 21cm topic: if you can live without a german 17cm gun, then do your arty shopping once (I did in 1939) and keep enjoying 3 'free' Denied Artillery trait points up until 1945

That would mean no Wurfrahmen. No 30cm Nebelwerfers. No Hummels. No early StuGs, StuHs or Brummbär's. That's some pretty good stuff you're skipping there.
Re: please explain deuce
Well, you do have that one Wurfrahmen 40 if you captured the island in the first Norway scenario. Are the SPG artillery worth the extra cost/slots? That's debatable. And I don't find the Sturmgeschütz units nearly as useful as they were in PC1.Magni wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 11:25 pmWhen you go to the USSR.scorehouse wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:58 pm that's what i did. when do you get the opportunity to capture more KV2's? love that tank

But nonetheless, if you really need/want one of those units that you mentioned, you can always take another Denied Artillery "holiday" and upgrade them to whatever you want for just that one DLC.
Re: please explain deuce
You have limited repalcements of 'em, it's only prototypes. And holy hell are self-propelled arty worth it especially in Russia. Outside one 21cm Mörser, I converted all my active arty to Wurfrahmen and StuGs during early Barbarossa, and it absolutely paid off for all those long-distance offensive scenarios; the sFHs only came out during Yelnya. And StuG's are great. Low core slot cost, tank-level defense, entrenchment killer and decent suppression all in one. StuHs even throw in a half-decent AT mode as a bonus.
Re: please explain deuce
The Wurf 40 is only a prototype before the date it is normally available. However, after that point, you can still have unlimited replacements even if you have Denied Artillery selected. It only affects new purchases and upgrades to GERMAN equipment, not those you already have. True limited edition units, like Emil, will be limited regardless if you select Denied Anything or not. So if there's stuff you want later like you said, take a one year/DLC holiday and upgrade what you will and then after that enjoy the benefits of Denied Artillery thereafter.Magni wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 11:53 pmYou have limited repalcements of 'em, it's only prototypes.
