Re: If you are having a problem contacting your opponent please let me know . . .
All First Round matches have had challenges issued and should be underway now. That's very good. With this KO Tournament, I have found over the years that it pays big dividends for me as an organiser if I put a big effort into maling sure the First Round goes off properly. If it does then the rest of the tournament more or less looks after itself. This is because at the start of each subsequent round I am always dealing with players who have a 100% record in the tournament and they are very keen to get the next match started.

Captainwaltersavage - German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD with Hungarian 1200-1319 AD allies defeats Joggy - German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD with Bohemian 1200-1319 AD allies 47:22
Almost identical armies. Units of dismounted knights hacked each other to pieces in the centre. I had the terrain advantage and the Hungarian allies tipped the balance in the cavalry battle. Lots of units on both sides on the verge of collapse. Great game.

Round 1
klayeckles - Khorasanian 821-1003 AD with Dailami 928-1055 AD allies defeats Conteshard - Roman 197-284 AD with Arab 312 BC-299 AD allies 42 to 10
the two armies met on a narrow coastline, with the Khorasanian anchoring the coast with untested spearmen facing a large roman cav wing aiming to sweep the coastline. meanwhile the dailami allies marched forward into some rough terrain that wasn't suited to the roman legions in conteshard's center. There the Dailami faced off against some armored auxilliaries, and threatened the legions enough to hamper their advance. on the far wing a large cav wing swept around the flanks of the auxilliaries, lightly protected by some arab camels. the shear number of cav allowed the Khorasanians to engage the defenders, and still have cav remaining to penetrate past and then hit the rear of the roman center. the roman cav charge on the coast wasn't able to break thru the raw spearmen, now standing on a gentle hill, and thus the romans fell to cav coming from all sides. medals pounded out of roman gladus were awarded to the raw spearmen for standing up to the veteran roman cav and cataphracts, as an early breakthrough there could have led to a different outcome.

Aetius39 (Romans) defeats scrofulus (Low Countries) 49-0
Tough break for the Low Country spearmen as they had a real hard time against the Roman legionnaires. GG!
