Hi Kerensky,
I just replayed Kiev specifically hunting for the BP-56 Panzerzug and it is not captureable! Even with the 'Scavenger' hero. I get the money, but not the unit.
The same applied to the panzerzug from the Lvov DCL 1940 scenario - you only get $$$, but not the unit itself.
Why such discrimination?
Panzerzugs are not captureable?

I noticed that a long time ago in AO39 too, but since you already have one and it has unlimited replacements I never found it to be a big deal. Then you get another in AO41 and...well, again not a big deal.Vorskl wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:52 pm Hi Kerensky,

Panzerzugs are very effective in the late 1941 scenarios with shitty weather and road conditions. And they are fun!adiekmann wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:56 pmI noticed that a long time ago in AO39 too, but since you already have one and it has unlimited replacements I never found it to be a big deal. True, and I even mentioned that at one point during the Beta that I use them more in AO41 than ever before. However, you already have two of them by then, and since they're on tracks and only have a 3 range, it would be difficult on most maps to use more than two anyway. That's why I said not a big deal. It's like having 7 recon aircraft. No use for that many.Vorskl wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 8:59 pmPanzerzugs are very effective in the late 1941 scenarios with shitty weather and road conditions. A better question is this: Why do they not provide any kind of Artillery/AT support fire like regular artillery units???
Re: Panzerzugs are not captureable?
Yes, Panzerzugs require serious updates:adiekmann wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 9:38 pmTrue, and I even mentioned that at one point during the Beta that I use them more in AO41 than ever before. - AT capability (with 105 - 152 mm guns it's kinda obvious)
- AA guns (I have seen photos of the trains with 88 Flaks mounted on them)
- capturability. From the history, we know German captured and re-used at least one train - https://www.warhistoryonline.com/instan ... yakov.html
Re: Panzerzugs are not captureable?
I captured HMS King George V and also could not field it. I was very disappointed

Re: Panzerzugs are not captureable?
I wanted to deploy two of my PZ at Mozhaisk, but...it turned out that PZs are not overstrengthable? Why so?
The way game treats PZs is as if they were battleships. I get that you should be able to 'overstrength' Bismarck or Rodney, but trains??? Add another railcar, but a Flak or a captured T-26 and here is your 'overstrength'.

Re: Panzerzugs are not captureable?
Edmon, if you guys introduce naval trophies into the game AKA piracy, make sure to make the prestige balance right.
Bismark cost was 198MM of reichmarks, give or take $100MM in 1940. StugIII at that time costed 80-100k reichmarks at most. Basically, you capture Rodneo or Bismark with a 'Scavenger' trait and you should not worry about your prestige till 1970s

It's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Who is gonna buy your stolen shipping?Vorskl wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 4:59 pmEdmon, if you guys introduce naval trophies into the game AKA piracy, make sure to make the prestige balance right.
