Scenario Japan Xuzhou Missing Pilot after Restart

Hello, I have discovered another bug in the scenario Xuzhou. Objective Task "Shoot down the two Soviet pilots". If you load a save game or even if the plane is shot down directly in the next scenario, the pilot is gone and at the end of the scenario the target remains open.
I believe that when this campaign was released, this bug was reported there as well. However, I can't find the entry anymore.

Okay, nice find. It's true that the wording of the objective could be misunderstood if taken too literally... (and I have no idea how it was translated into German, maybe it's even worse there)

...but I think it's obvious otherwise, that the objective's about destroying both the planes, and NOT about removing (wounding) the attached heroes/commanders...

Yes, that's what the scenario is about. In English the text reads: "Shoot down both Soviet Pilots", and in the extended explanation it says: "The loss of experience Soviets volunteer Pilots will weaken the Chinese Air Force in future operation".
The intention is to permanently weaken the Chinese Air Force.

Hmmm....well...yeah, I guess technically you're right. It would be better to read "shoot down two Soviet planes" instead.

On a sidenote, I'm not sure if perhaps the commander's "wounded/killed/imprisoned" mechanic was introduced after this DLCs' release (?).

And I still think it's kinda funny, as I would NEVER have understood the text in the objective as you did. It was always perfectly clear to me that I do have to destroy the planes.

One solution would be to rename the 2 aircraft or to put them in core units
