Division E
Blagrot - Ancient British 60 BC-80 AD with Roman 24 BC-124 AD Allies beat carpenkm - Roman 24 BC–196 AD with Sarmatian 25-375 AD allies 55% - 26%
The British had the better of the shooting on a rather cramped map, a small outflanking set fo warbands crossing some rough terrain to attack the Roman archers. The Roman Auxila refused to hold and fight in the face of the barbarians (something about not washing properly?) and while nothing could stop the Praetorians they couldn't be everywhere. Thanks for the game and I think some of your troops need a stern talking to after that battle.

Thanks for a good game and the better side won, but those Auxillia were obviously looking for a romano-brittish villa to settle in after the war! They have had a stern talking to! Well played.Blagrot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 10:22 pm Division E

Re: LuciusSulla has won Classical Antiquity Division A!
I believe that technically in Season 7, dkalenda used the Achaemenid Persians. I distinctly recall facing them as the Macedonians, and they were one of the two armies that beat me that season.stockwellpete wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 11:40 amI have had a look in the archive to answer this question . . .
Season 1 - winners were Indian (pre-nerf); Achaemenid Persians came third with 5-2-2 record (NikiforosFokas).
Season 2 - winners were Hannibal in Africa; Achaemenid Persians came fifth with 4-0-5 record (ruskicanuk).
Season 3 - winners were Ptolemaic; Achaemenid Persians came fourth with 6-0-3 record (klayeckles).
Season 4 - winners were Seleucid; Achaemenid Persians came fifth with a 6-0-3 record (pantherboy).
Season 5 - winners were Lysimachid; Achaemenid Persians came second with 8-0-1 record (klayeckles)
Season 6 - winners were Antigonid; Achaemenid Persians not selected.
Season 7 - winners were Macedonian; Achaemenid Persians not selected.
Season 8 - winners were Hannibal in Africa; Achaemenid Persians not selected.
Season 9 - winners were Pontic; Achaemenid Persians were not selected.
Season 10 - winners were Achaemenid Persians with a 7-1-0 record with 1 match remaining (LuciusSulla).
So it is very interesting. When they have been picked they have always finished in the top half of the table and in Season 5 came very close to winning the division. But since then they have not been picked at all until this season. Their overall record in the A division is 36-3-14, which is pretty impressive really!

Division B
Aetius39 (Anglo-Saxons) defeats NikiforosFokas (Byzantines) 40-8
The downfall of the Byzantine army was the entrapment and routing of a large number of cavalry on the Anglo-Saxon right flank, along with the left side's shield wall holding up against the Skoutatoi heavy infantry. GG!

Re: LuciusSulla has won Classical Antiquity Division A!
Yes, you are correct. I missed that. He came sixth with a 3-2-4 record. That was actually the least successful attempt to use them in the A division. So their overall record is 39-5-18. Still very good.
