Division B

Geffalrus (Germans SE) barely, and I mean BARELY defeats Triarii (Teutonic Order) 62-59

Things started simple: I wanted to wrap around with my giant left of Irregulars and Raw troops in the rough ground, while Triarii aimed to smash my knights on the right with his mass of elite cavalry. My infantry were slow, but his cavalry was trying to break my best troops frontally, so it ended up being even. After a lot of bloodshed, my knights and their supporting crossbowmen were dead, and the fate of my army was in the hands of the proletariat composing the victorious left wing. My low quality troops under the watchful eye of the CinC managed to pass just enough cohesion checks to survive in melee long enough to autobreak some of the enemy knights and claim victory. A couple rolls the other way, and my epitaph would have easily been written.

This completes the second great game with Triarii this season, and wraps up my two sections of the DL. Thanks again to stockwellpete for running such an excellent competition, thank you Snugglebunny and your videos for reigniting my interest in multiplayer, and thank you development team for coming out with yet another excellent military sandbox. Good luck to everyone in the rest of their matches!

Division B

Nijis (Vikings, Ireland) defeats GDod (Indians, Rajput) 47-7.

The Indians advanced on the Viking line using their lancers to fend off infantry while the archers got into position to rain down arrows, but a couple of bad elephant morale bombs allowed the spears to break through.

Division B

Triarii (Teutonic Order) defeats Morkin the Free (Danish) 59-26

The Danish knights were concentrated on the Danish right but unfortunately were opposite all the Teutonic knights in greater numbers and quality.
The outnumbered Danish knights were routed exposing the poor foot in the centre to envelopment and a sudden dramatic collapse before they could overwhelm the limited numbers of Teutonic foot.

Weekly round-up
A sixth win for Questar17 (Etruscan) in Division A this week has extended his lead to 6 points over second-placed LuciusSulla (Achaemenid), while 2 wins for harveylh (Macedonian) sees him move up to fourth. Cunningcairn (Indo-Skythian) also registered 2 wins to end any relegation worries this season. At the bottom, both Challenge1 (Roman) and lunecastle (Seleucid) are still looking for their first win. Still very slow in Division B where desertedfox (Gallic) has moved into 2nd place, level on points with leader tyronec (Syracusan) but having played 2 games more. In Division C SpeedyCM (Sertorius) has extended his winning sequence to 6 matches to move into second place, just 1 point behind leader in the clubhouse ulysisgrunt (Gallic). toska (Syracusan) now looks to be the major threat having won 4 of his 5 matches. At the bottom Rob123 (Achaemenid) is relegated after his eighth consecutive defeat. Nothing to report from Division D this week, while in Division E a win for BobGanoush (Roman) makes it increasingly likely that he will finish second in the table behind the leader Captainwaltersavage (Roman) who has 7 straight wins. MarcoCato75 (Roman) moved into second place in Division F with his fourth win, but still trails leader Delbruck (Achaemenid) by 8 points with only 1 game in hand. Malabar26 (Thracian) is the other contender with 3 wins from 3 starts so far. At the bottom the wooden spoon is now between telesien (Samnite) and Brenmusik (Slave Revolt), who are both still looking for their first win.

Weekly round-up
ConstantinIX (Arab City) managed to win his last match of the season to go back to the top of Division A. Consequently, ericdoman1 needs to get at least 2 points from his last match against nyczar (Roman) to win the championship. desertedfox (Sassanid) posted 3 wins this week to give himself a very good chance of finishing third. A seventh win for tyronec (Arab City) in Division B means that only Aetius39 (Byzantine) can prevent him for gaining automatic promotion in his first season. The result of their match together will be decisive. A quiet week in Division C where Morat (Ostrogoth) remains favourite to win the division, although a defeat to close rival lunecastle (Pictish) in their match could still see a very tight finish. Nothing much to report from Division D this week, but in Division E TomoeGozen (Sassanid) has moved to the top after a narrow win against previously unbeaten Blagrot (Ancient British). random27 (Germanic Horse) and Darkwater247 (Bosporan) are very close in second and third places, while carpenkm (Roman) may still feature in the promotion chase as well.
