Shoot-a-thon for the first few rounds, and then the Parthian elephants/cataphracts came in. The Byzantines tried their best to disrupt them, and were successful on a few, but others got in and caused a ruckus. Eventually some Byzantine units went south and managed to attack the Parthians' archers/medium infantry, and that helped rout the army. GG, had to think a lot in it!^^

Terrain hindered both armies but hurt the Vikings more. Despite the unfavorable terrain, the Vikings used it well and nearly turned the tables to win the game.

I think this might have been my narrowest victory (and certainly closer than the scoreboard suggests) as Triarii expertly positioned his units allowing his weak left flank to pin down a large portion of my army for multiple turns. An insanely tenacious steep hill defence on my right flank (multiple units fighting to auto-retreat, passing disruption checks) against Triarii's knights and best infantry gave me time to encircle and destroy his centre with my superior numbers. Great game.
