I've encountered a reproducible bug when playing the Entente. Here's what the log says, not that it's telling me much. :?

@Nehi: Thats looks like the same crash I posted 30 minutes ago. Interesting, looks like we are playing the same game right now :)
I am facing the same issue. Something with finnland. Until its fixed i ll try some other stuff.

@Pamira & Egge: Welcome in this forum. enjoy the mod, its worth it. Its good to see that more players are testing the mod as well.
Please leave your feed back here. I make a lot of suggestions but i would like to know what other players think as well.

Fixed all reported issues. Not sure why nehi's Aufmarsch Ost campaign got botched up though but match can be continued.
New version also features donwgraded Patriotic Movement and removal of French morale drain in Rupprecht.
Aufmarsch Ost is a bit harder now to reflect that the Russians had time to prepare.

Hey, thanks for the quick fix.

Does anybody else think it's still too easy to force Germany or France to surrender? In my campaign France was on the verge of surrender in spring of 1915 even though Germany had made practically no gains at all (into France at least) and never got close to Paris. I had to play Patriotic Sentiment to keep her in the war. What ultimately saved her was that Germany was even worse off and surrendered in early 1915. This is just as strange as Germany hadn't lost any cities besides Gumbinnen (well, and their navy). What causes the French and German NM to drop so quickly? Austria, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be all that concerned about losing both Tyrol and Galicia. They have much more reason to be war-weary, yet happily keep on fighting.

Not sure about the details of your game, normally austria-hungary is the country that is kicked out fist if CP loose.
But that can be referred to a different way of playing -
Germany is the key nation of the CP. If they are done, its over anyway. Thats why i always try to keeping them in the best possible positon.
Everything can be sacrificed in the worst case.
If enemies invade, I try to funnel them into another ally (=AH) instead off allowing them to get a footprint on german soil.
That must be prevented at any cost. No germany = certain death. Thats why i actually always loose AH, Ottoman or Bulgaria first to keep the game up and running as long as possible.

I dont know the details of morale drain by heart, i keep checking the manual for details myself as there are many factors, its all explained in there.
I also hardly play with entente, so i am not an expert about france.
But basically, from a CP perspective:
- Prevent enemy units on your soil (especially russians in east prussia)
- Dont conduct wastefull, non beneficial attacks. The kill-lost relation (how many own units destroyed - how many enemy units destroyed) must be at least balanced if not in favour for you. If your casualties are higher than the enemy casualties: Morale drain becomes unstoppable!
- You said the german navy has been sunk? Thats a lot of units! Dont risk loosing the entire fleet!
- Loosing major warships lead to additional collapse points, loosing the fleet and not sinking the royal navy is even worse
- A few events get you some extra morale if required: Patriotic move and shackled to a corps can be usefull to prevent loosing an ally.
- I dont think one can sink a navy so easily in MP, so the experience is different if playing online. (AI use of navy is not superb)

There was an issue with French morale getting automatically drained and CP AI suffering morale loss from Russian troops on German hexes.

Fixed in new version 12.04

Just a few further thoughts. Nothing special, take what you need or delete/change them.
Sometimes its good to share ideas to improve them with feed back. So thats what i am trying do.

When do you actually want to have a break from the game?
Just kidding. I guess you cant with so many comments here :oops: :lol:

I just want to make clear that this mod will not be compatible to the Generic Mod Enabler/JSGME tool.
The reason for this is that this mod is the ONLY ONE for the game which is actively supported and I've had enough work getting this project done to begin with.
You only have to copy/paste a single folder. A task anyone should be capable of doing.
There will be no other language files other than english because of no less than 500+ new event descriptions and countless numbers of other text messages.
So unless you volunteer to translate all that stuff to your preferred language, please accept that the mod is english only.

Hello,

I have changed the name of Lille and it is working perfectly, thank you again Robotron !

I have played the Historical Schlieffen Plan with Entente and it was really nice :
- the Serbian front was really hard to maintain and I had to preserve my troops and move French troops to help them
- the western front was pretty similar to the historic one and when my artillery became very evolved it was pretty simple to conquer back Belgium and then to enter in Germany
- for the Eastern front, I could feel that Russian were more powerful and even when I got the Russian Supply Crisis, I could maintain my positions which was nice after all these games I could see my troops dying without a chance to survive ! The Germans were not very aggressive wich was a surprise but the Austrian were stronger than before which is a nice change also
- for the Italian front, the CP did not defend a lot so I could attack easily and help the serbians to survive and finally I was able to conquer Vienna at the end
- In Egypt, I prepared a lot of British cavalery before the Ottomans enter into the war so it was pretty simple to conquer this part of the map
- In Mesopotamia, my troops were defeated pretty quickly, it was really hard to attack at the beginning and I was trying to survive all the time
- in the Caucasus, the fight was equilibrate and nothing happened on this front
- for the naval part, I could not see a big difference with before, the CP attacked me with one or two boats on each fronts and I just had to destroy them slowly
- for the air part, I found this new evolution more realist, that's cool, you cannot change the way of the war but sometimes they can help you

To resume, no bug to report. The CP defended a lot after 1914, I guess it is because they cannot find a solution and my attack with the Russians was very aggressive.
I finished the game in 1916 I think but I had a lot of fun ! Thanks again Robotron for your incredible job

Just finished an amazing, insane looong SP game (probably the closest game i have ever played). Some interesting stuff and observations:
It finished on Turn 63 of 60 (How is this even possible? Looks like the game does not end on turn 60) :mrgreen:

My personal objective was to check long term effects - How long can one sustain with additional manpower?
What kind of Events are happening 1917/1918? Most of the games end 1916...I wanted to go the entire way.
I never accepted any surrender request, i fought against all countries until they completely collapsed.

Rough sequence of events:
1. CP, Aufmarsch Ost, re-start without the Patriotic Move Bonus
2. Failed to achieve the objectives (tried Warsaw and Brest, only took warsaw and surrounded brest, then winter came)
3. Eastern Front during the winter: Very static, russia recovered, Romania was in favour of joining Entente
4. To calm down Romania, I ceided transilvanya. Romania ended up almost neutral. But never joined me.
5. This move seemd to have upset bulgaria as well - Bulgaria never joined me for an entire game for the very first time. (I could not even activate them by Event)
6. Because of that, no railroad connection could be established - unable to transport PP and Ammo between Ottoman and Germany
7. Italy requested Tirol, but i could not give it up as well, Austria was already low on morale as i gave up transilvanya. Request denied.
8. Italy joined Entente.
9. Greece joined Entente early (happens almost never)
10. I am isolated with austria in central europe - Zero additional support. Ottoman is fighting against UK and takes suez region.
11. Defending against france is easy, even with the new french event ´Cran Elan et la B.´
12. I sank the lusitania (without event, was just bad luck), US favours Entente as well now.
13. Wilson is elected, to keep US busy, i send the Zimmermann Telegram for the very first time (never seen this event before!)
14. Telegam is intercepted by USA - USA declares war on CP
15. Austria is very low on morale, i take all risks and play the "Tripple Monarchy" Event (also: first time I have ever seen this event). It works!!! Austria ist secured for now.
16. Russia keeps fighting until dec 1917, i send lenin to petrograd, the revolution is now unstopable. Russia surrenders.
17. Rapidly send all troops to the west. France is upset and forces Belgium to use its territory to attack germany. Belgium stays neutral, but give right of passage.
18. Huge battles everywhere. What helps a lot: Defending against Italy is possible! Unpassable Hexes and new fortresses save my day.
19. I play the Kaiserschlacht Event and the siege of verdun. All artillery incl. railroad guns focus on the fortress. I took it. The kaiserschlacht rages on. (It is 1918!)
20. I never ever got Salonika / Greece or southern serbia until the end. Fighting goes on until the last turn.
21. French and italian armies get exhausted mid 1918. Italy surrenders first. (Shelling of italien coast event did not happen!)
22. Germany surround Paris on Turn 60 (!!!)
23. Game does not stop. The Kaiserschlacht rages on until Turn 63 (How is that possible?). France surrenders. UK surrenders. Done.

Interesting things / questions:
- I reached Turn 63/60 (So the game does not end on turn 60?)
- Bulgaria and Romania never ever joined me (never happened before)
- I assembled my entire austrian fleet in the adria, I wanted to start the new ´shelling of Ancona´ Event. I could never pick it (Why?)
- My fighters were limited to tech levels, the french were not. (I could build max. 3 fighters on the westfront who faced 8 french fighters. (No limitation for AI?)

Fantastic game. Entente now.

Would you say that artillery is generally too strong?

I must admit hat I've still not understood what exactly is going on in the AI scripts: it's largely trial&error and then see what happens - sometimes with no effect at all and other times with crazy results.

Kaiserschlacht only ends when no new French hexes are conquered. Turn limit issue is just an oversight.

Yes, for simplicity's sake. The script part about what units AI should or should not build is completely unclear and could lead to excessive (if not infinite) AI turn calculation time.

Just a few potentials fixes, no big issues but still.

The event RUSSIAN INVASION REPELLED doesn't check for a war between Russia and Germany. As a result, Russia suffers a collapse point when Germany surrenders and you accidentally move all units out of Prussia.

ANZAC ARRIVE IN EGYPT only becomes available once the German East Asian Squadron has been sunk or escaped. This is true even when Germany has already surrendered.

IMO this is a feature, not a bug. Why should the game assume a historical end date? At the time many parties saw 1919 as a very possible another year of war, to the point both had alternative offensives planned. So, if the state of war is stalemateish, I see no proble with going on to turn 70-something.

I think its great, please dont change it. I enjoyed the game and it would have been sad if it had finished automatically.
Please dont put an artificial limitation in here, if the war rages on in 1919, so be it.

Italy, Great Britain, France and Russia once only (I think thats how you want it to be anyway, right?)
But Serbia many many times. I think I rejected that for many turns but I had to because there were plenty of british and french troops on serbian soil joining from salonika. I wanted to fight them. Once serbia surrenders, serbia becomes neutral and all the entente troops inside serbian territory are ´trapped´ and cant move as they are labled in red without supply. Entente players cant remove commanders and the units suffer a slow dead with no supplies.
In the end, when serbian morale was shattered, and i think they ran out of manpower, they still surrendered and trapped multiple entente troops inside their territory.
It was a bit weird. Bur its okay, i understand that very complicated to programme. It does not need a change.

I have to add: Initially, after I ceided transilvania to romania, the diplomatic screen showed the romanian flag at the bottom which said they join CP in "Turns 25+".
So i thought they join me, but a few turns later this disappeared and never came back. I assumed that entente heavily influenced romania and made them neutral again?!

Honestly, i think it can. They had zero chance. Defending against AI played france on a 4 hex frontline only (including 2 fortresses) is very easy.
It only got interesting when they got the right of passage from belgium which widened the frontline. But this happened 1917 only. Too late. I already had my reenforcements from the east back in the west.

Thank god the AI does not know how to use them. I did not care, all planes were just too far away from the frontine but i could spot them with my zeppelin. As long as all human players in MP have the same tech level limitations, i am happy. I thought it was a french issue. But okay, its the script. All good.

Whats the conditon for tha Ancona raid? I could not activate it / see it.

I juste played another game with CP Historical Schliffen Plan and despite Serbia surrenderd at first, it was a really hard game :
- I was able to move in France and defeat Belgium in 1914 and to take Paris at the Spring of 1915 and then to wait that France and England surrender.
- On the North Sea, I used the German event to develop their fleet and in 1916, all the English fleet was defeated.
- Italy entered into the war at the middle of 1915, I had just one troop to defend Trieste so I was lucky they did not attack too much ! It was the same in the Balkans when the English and the French arrived, all my troops were on the eastern front so I had to face them with bad troops just to slow them
- On the eastern front, Russia was too powerful, I had all my Austrian army to face them but they destroyed all my units in two years and in East Prussia, I was defending all the time so German morale was really bad all the war. At the end, all my troops were defeated and I won in 1917 juste because France and England surrendered before.
- On the Egyptian front, I was able to block Suez, to defend Bassora and to occupy all the Caucasus so I won because of them I guess.

If France and England had fight for few more turns, I think I would be defeated, the Russian were invading all my countries without opposition and it was the same in Balkans !
For me Artillery is a little bit too strong : if you have two units of artillery and good troops on your front line, you can destroy one unit per turn, so you cannot keep a front line and it is not so realist. The war will finish too quickly...
I would be curious to know what are the opinion of the other players ?
