Mod Manager Issue - Units.csv File
Hey Guys,
I'm in the final phases of testing a mod before uploading it to Steam, and I've come across an issue that I can't seem to resolve. FYI... my mod only changes the game's Units.csv final.
Whenever I activate it through the Mod Manager, all units from all factions lose their switch to capability. For instance, all Anti-Air units lose the ability to switch to Anti-Tank mode. The switch to icon is completely gone as if it was deleted from the game. I got the same results with a test mod that contained original/unaltered game files.
This issue does not occur when I overwrite the Units.csv directly in the game files. It only occurs through the Mod Manager.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - R2 Out

Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Here are two mods, both are 'identical'
I've posted them before, i think.
One adds the changes at the end of the full units.csv. This kills the switching of all units.
The second one has a small units.csv with just the changes, it works fine.
I still do not see Mod descriptions in the Mod Manger, but that is a different issue.

There comes a time on every project when it is time to shoot the engineer and ship the damn thing.
Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Mods file has been attached. It contains both my updated mod and a test mod. The test mod uses an unaltered units.csv and has the same issue. Thanks

Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Hello,
just a simple question - sorry if it is not appropriate here.
I just wanted to know :
Is there a central place where I can find Custom Campaigns or Modifications?
I see four Mods in the Steam Workshop.
And if I search the forum here I can find the "Taman campaign" and "Desert Rats".
Is it an idea to make a special thread: "Custom Campaigns or Modifications"? With Links for where to find and download them?
Thank you.

Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Hi Wecker. Normally it would be best to post a New Topic when asking specific questions. To answer your questions:
The central place for custom campaigns and mods would be the Steam Workshop... but there seems to be a couple issues which are limiting the amount of Steam Mods.
1) Uploading a PC2 Steam Mod is not a user friendly process, and there's no detailed step-by-step guide to help first time modders.
2) The Mod Manager was a recent addition to the game and appears to have problems with certain game files. I've got 5 mods ready to upload to Steam, but I need to resolve these Mod Manager issues first. Hopefully Rudankort can help me with this one.
For the time being, the PC2 Scenario Design Forum is where most modders post their content in individual topics.

Thank you for the clarification R2G2 - then I will bookmark this subforum.
Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Any luck on identifying the issue?
Also, I think I found another Mod Manager bug in regards to the units.csv file. Any changes to aircraft data prevents them from being deployed on the map.
Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Unfortunately, I'm come across a couple more bugs with the Mod Manager for the units.csv file:
1) The embark function doesn't show up for added units
2) Transports don't appear as a purchasable item for added units with towed movement
Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Have you added the 'Transport/air base class' to the new units.
It's the second to last column in the equip list. Should be something like 'LightGun'.

Re: Mod Manager Unit Issue
Yes, the Transport /air base class was assigned. Just to clarify, all issues mentioned in this post are gone if I save these units directly into the game's Units.csv file. These issues occur only when activating a Units.csv file through the Mod Manager. But, I do appreciate your support dalfrede.
