How to create new armies

Just getting ready to start our first PBEM and I want to create a new army to garrison my capital. How do you do that? Thanks.

Choose the army which you want to garrison and right-click on the town. Or you hit the garrison button on top of the units in your army. You can only garrison in region with at least a palisade (as far as i know).

Thanks for your replay but you misunderstood my question. I currently have two armies and I want to create a third army and then populate it with medium infantry to garrison my capital.

Click on a stack. Highlight the units you want in your new army. Click "Split".

Click the new stack and click "Garrison".

Drag and drop any units you want into the new army.
