Division A
LuciusSulla (Viking with French) draws with XLegione (Frankish with Croatian) 8-3
A map with 100-elevation hills on both sides of a disruptive stream that runs into a waterbody that makes up 1/3 the width of the map. Basically impossible for both heavy-infantry-based armies to attack across the stream except for exchanging a few projectiles.

Division E
rs2excelsior (Ostrogothic 493-561 AD) beat Spacemonkey76 (Byzantine 493-550 AD with Arab Bedouin 300-636 AD allies) 45-8
Each side had a hill where the infantry deployed as the cavalry moved up for the main battle. Turns out, Ostrogothic lancers were able to overcome the mostly horse archer cavalry force which the Byzantines brought to the field. I was worried about trying to assault the Byzantine infantry on their hilltop position, but it turned out I didn't need to. An irregular unit disrupted on a charge, then broke, followed by the charging lancer pushing through the gap and hitting the archers, which was enough to push the Byzantines over the edge.
The battlefield at the end: Good game, it was a fun one! A hectic cavalry fight that ended up shaking out my way.

lydianed (Caledonian) defeated BishUK (Romans & Arabs) 51:18
The legions stood their ground in the centre but the more numerous Caledonians worked their way around the flanks. Thanks for the game.

Morat (Ostrogoths/Germans) beat cromlechi (Arab CIty/Sassandids) 64-47
Strong start by the Ostrogoths, followed by a terrific comeback from the Arabs/Sassanids - whose elephants, heavy horse and spears wreaked havoc. In the end the Ostrogoths just held on.
Many thanks to cromlechi for a great battle.

Aetius39 (Byzantine) defeats MorkinTheFree (Roman) 44-18
Botha armies lined up right across from each other, but as the cavalry from the left line of the Byzantine clashed with the Romans, the Byzantine right avoided fighting and moved up and to the left of the enemy (towards the cavalry fight). Eventually the Roman left caught up, and a kind of bloody trench warefare took place, and the Romans would attack the lancers, edge them out of position a space, and next turn try again, all the while the lancers pelted them with arrows. Eventually the Roman right collapsed due to a few flanks, and along with a few lucky cohesion gains, the Byzantines squeaked out a victory. If one of the Romans regained cohesion, the score would have been higher and perhaps not a victory. GG to MorkinTheFree who played well and made it a hard-fought game!

edb1815 (Bretons) defeated SLancaster (Scots-Irish) 62%-58%
A very nerve racking game that swung back and forth up to the last two turns. Could have gone either way or even a tie score! Well played by SLancaster a well deserved point. He caught my right flank before the left flank division could get into position and took an early lead. Once the lines were engaged the Bretons clawed back into it and took the lead. Then the Scots-Irish came back in the end with two fresh warband that almost tipped the balance yet again. Good game.
