Mask TGA Files

Post by Harishima »

Hi all, I've been noticing something interesting lately in the game's campaign files. Upon a quick search I see that it has been mentioned before, but I was wondering if any developer/modder could help explain it. There are these Mask TGA files inside each of the campaign folders, and I am aware that the game uses them to demarcate territorial changes as a player progresses through a campaign. My questions are
1. How can we use/make these mask files ourselves, for our own custom campaigns?
2. Do these mask images require to be linked, and if so, where can it be found?
I've been digging more and haven't found anything. If anyone knows any of the answers to the above it would be a real help. As of now I know that there are two "sets" of these mask images for each campaign mission, one representing the enemy force territory and one for yours. Thanks for all your input!

I recall LNDavoust using the mask files inside his mod/campaign: Spanish Civil War Mod & Campaign (v0.75). You should find some info in the thread and examples inside the mod itself.

1) Use a paint software
2) The numbering of the suffix corresponds to the scens within the campaign somehow. I'm not sure how the numbering works. But I'm pretty sure that LNDavoust explained it in some of his posts. Sorry, not much help there.
