Division D
Captainwaltersavage - Bohemian 1155-1199 AD beats Conteshard - German (Imperial) 1200-1319 AD 45:20
The huge variety of troops available to the German imperials make choosing what to use a tricky conundrum. I chose well enough.
The battlefield was split by a huge Rock outcrop on my right centre. with a forest to the right of it. Wide open plain to the left.
We pretty much matched each others choices. A few units fighting over the woods (mainly crossbows). Infantry in the centre and cavalry on my left (their right). Identical numbers of knights and I had two mounted crossbows vs two noble lancer units on the extreme left.
I charged the nobles with the knights and it did not go well for the nobles. By stretching left it meant I had to use a unit of raw defensive spearmen to try to slow down a knights charge. They bounced those knights about 4 times. This allowed me to crush the remaining knights on the left. My centre was crushed by a coordinated assault but the battle was won by the time they got into position to take advantage. I was very lucky with those spearmen, and my other infantry foot well enough to balance other losses. Great game - very scary seeing the knights face off against the raw spearmen.

Division C
SawyerK (Frankish 595-599 AD) defeated Doyley50 (Palmyran 258-273 AD) by 69-35.
The Franks used rough ground and patches of woods to usefully employ their medium foot against the cataphracts and legionnaires of the Palmyrans. My opponent had the misfortune of having several units break on the last turn and just missed a draw he worked hard to obtain.
