DL Game notification
DL Game notification
I received the following notification when attempting to continue one of my matches in the current Digital League:
"The scripts or other data being used by your opponent do not match yours. You should contact the other player to ask why the data if different.
It is recommended that you abandon the game and report the issue to the forum".
I saved the game. I am not aware of a problem, but I really do not watch a lot of the replay so I wouldn't normally notice anything unusual.

Re: DL Game notification
That means that you and your opponent are not using the same script base (or squads file).
As there hasn't been a game update recently, that probably means that one of you has modded their main build. (Which is a complete no no if you play MP)
That player needs to revert to a clean unmodded build, and you probably do need to abandon the game and start again, because any changes to the scripts or squad files can mess up the replay and make events permanently turn out differently from how they did in the player's own turn. That includes squads file mods that simply change the number of models displayed in each unit.
It is extremely unlikely that any deliberate "cheating" is involved, but I suggest you PM stockwellpete, and ask him to speak to each of you.

Re: DL Game notification
Thank you Richard. Personally, either I am not techie enough or interested enough to mod my own game. If it is possible (likely?) that a player is using a modded game, wouldn't that message come up in all the MP games that the player is in?
I will leave the decision about the status of the game up to the moderator of the tournament.

Yes. Unless he normally switches it out, but forgot to do so for your game.
You have PM'd him? (He is unlikely to look at the technical support forum.)I will leave the decision about the status of the game up to the moderator of the tournament.

Re: DL Game notification
No, it seems too much like an accusation - especially in a tournament. If it's just me, I would rather lose the game.

Re: DL Game notification
But the guy himself needs to be told, so he can remove any mods from his main build, and only you know who he is.
He probably doesn't realise he is causing a problem.

Re: DL Game notification
I mentioned the error when I played the turn.

Re: DL Game notification
Possibly, but does he know what it means? Ah well, if you can't bring yourself tell him, and can't bring yourself to let Pete tell him, we will just have to cross our fingers and hope that his build does not cause more havoc in the DL and MP in general, because he does not know there is a problem.

Re: DL Game notification
I mentioned the possible modding to him, and I told Pete who my opponent was.
I did not receive the message in my next session.
