Bearing in mind the preferences expressed in other threads, here is my idea. Please feel free to suggest alternatives or amendments to it.
1. Two teams, captained by our esteemed Kiwi rivals, Kiwiwarlord and Awesum4
2. Two divisions, one covering the Renaissance period and the second covering the mid 18th Century. Each round, the Captains allocate their players to one of the Divisions where they will play a set game. Nothing prevents a player from changing periods from round to round, or indeed stating at the outset that they only want to play in one of the divisions.
3. Theme - Germanic rivalries 1500-1760
4. Winners and Losers - the emphasis will still be on enjoying the games, perhaps trying out new strategies and new lists, but if you want we can award points for winning and tot up the scores.
5. Potential Games could include:
Early Division
(from Age of Machiavelli) - German States 1543 - 1559 v Austrian 1543 - 1558
(from Tercio to Salvo) - German States 1570 - 1610 v Polish 1576 - 1589 (Winged Hussars!)
(from Tercio to Salvo) - French Hugeonot 1600-1610 v Austrian 1590 - 1609
(From Le Roi Soleil) - German States 1649-1688 v Austrian 1675-1688
Later Division, all Odenathus scenarios
Dettingen 1743
Kesselsdorf 1745
Soor 1745
Minden 1759

Thanks for all the positive and interesting suggestions. It will be hard to select one, but they all sound good.
So we have:
- Habsburgs and their enemies
I will be happy to run another event and we can maybe run a poll to see what is favourite, though I sensed from the comments that the Habsburgs would suit everyone".
Alan this was by far the most liked of the suggestions prior to your latest Germanic Rivalries post.
I would like to see Veles expand the Habsburgs idea with some of the historical scenarios within P&S included.
ie Veles, a timeline of Historical & MP games, say 4-6 in total.
There could be a problem with Players not wanting to participate in one or the other Group thus creating a numbers differential, so I would suggest that Players be allowed to play several battles against one Team or the other as long as they keep within the allocated Round Time ( normally 1 month )
What do folk think about that ?

Re: New team event proposal
I'd be interested in playing the early division, those sound like some fun chaotic matchups

Do you like the German Rivalries idea SB ?SnuggleBunnies wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 1:19 pm I'd be interested in playing the early division, those sound like some fun chaotic matchups
I assume that they are all MP Games.
Re: New team event proposal
I'd be happy to participate in both these themes.
I think people should be able to play a game in each of them. Many of us are playing multiple opponents every day, so it wouldn't be a struggle.
