Eggheads: "Exited" = "Alive"?

Post by bru888 »

My fellow eggheads out there . . . no, allow me to correct that . . . You eggheads out there (I don't have the mental capacity to qualify as an "egghead"), when a unit is exited by trigger during a scenario, is it still considered to be "Alive"? The question came up during my musings in this thread.

Postscript: Yes, I believe I have demonstrated that "Exited" = "Alive" in an experiment that I posted in that other thread. I believe the designer needed to use the "Deployed = 0" condition instead of "Alive = 0" for his "Destroy all enemy carriers" objective to allow for the Lexington possibly being exited by a campaign variable from an earlier scenario. Apparently, the exited Lexington is still "Alive" in the program's memory in that case.

Don't be shy when I call upon "eggheads" for their expertise. I mean that term as a compliment and there are a number of folks here who qualify. :)

I'm also not very sure about the exact difference between "exit" / "remove" and "undeploy". The one that's clear is "kill" probably. Does "remove" count towards "kills&casualties"? Can "exited" units be redeployed? And so on... I believe the real difference is something like that...
