Division B

oscarius - Scots (Isles and Highlands) 1050-1319 AD beats Sennacherib - Lithuanian 1100-1299 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1280 AD allies 60 - 37

Both armies started spread out, not sure where the other would deploy. I concentrated my forces quicker, blocking a cavalry flanking manoeuvre, and with some luck managed to overcome Sennacherib's right flank. From there my numerical superiority paid off and I managed to outflank his elite warriors with my more numerous infantry. Not an easy match.

oscarius - Scots (Isles and Highlands) 1050-1319 AD beats schmolywar - Bohemian 1200-1319 AD with Hungarian 1200-1319 AD allies (1600) 63 - 42

Another tough match. My centre managed to hold on by the skin of their teeth against schmolywar's knights. He proved reluctant to commit his dismounted knights to the fray, perhaps in fear of pushback encirclement, however who spent most of the game in a staring match with my Islemen. Again I used superior numbers to gradually outflank the foe. I do think a more aggressive strategy from my opponent would have won him the match.

My opponent was really unlucky not to get a draw as I just scraped the 60 mark on the last turn.

A very hard fought battle where Irish centre survived some fierce attacks (with help of hill) enabling left and right wings to squeeze in and get the victory. GG.

Spacemonkey76 (Viking) beat Morat (Georgian and Byzantine) 63-58

Really close game and could have gone either way. It eventually took 4 Viking units and about 5 turns to break the Cataphracts. Thank you.

Hard battle, finished just in time. A few more rounds and the result could have been quite different.
Thanks for good game.

Division E

SawyerK (Egyptian 570-525 BC army and Kyrenean Greek ally) defeats Geoffrey.P.Smith (Lydians 687-571 BC army and Greek ally) by 65-51

The battle map was very difficult with only two narrow passes (three grid spaces wide) between a wide mass of mountains. The Egyptians were able (barely) to bottleneck one pass while they successfully attacked through the other with hoplites and chariots. It was a very hard fought battle in the constrained area available and went down to the wire.

ericdoman1 - Indian 546-599 AD with Hephthalite 350-570 AD allies defeated Questar17 - Gepid 493-567 AD with Germanic/Gothic Foot Tribes 260-599 AD allies 61-48

Near enough an opposite repeat of our CA game. K's warbands put up a greater fight than others. If he had rallied just one unit there is a chance he would have had a marginal win. Phew cheers Konstantin.

Division E

Blagrot - Ancient British 60 BC-80 AD with Roman 24 BC-124 AD Allies beat Badger73 - Palmyran 258-273 AD 61% - 32%

The palmtrans won the race to a hill near the edge, but a mix of slingers and chariots chased off their light cavalry. Faced with the prospect of having small rocks rained onto them until sundown the legions and cataphracts decided to have a battle instead and left the hill to try and break the british warbands, the barbarians held the line long enough for first a lone cavalry unit and then a couple of chariots to reach flanking spots.

Thanks for the game and chat and good luck in the rest of the league

Division D

Blagrot - Andalusian 756-1049 AD beat Garokan - Spanish 900-1049 AD with Andalusian 756-1049 AD allies 61% - 57%

I thought I could get a quick victory by beating up everything not settled on a small hill but Garokan shielded and rotated his damaged troops well and there was a brutal couple of turns where both armies had multiple units rear charged but I had a little more reserves in good shape than the Spanish and ground out a win.

Thanks for the game
