I'm wondering whether this game will remain updated from time to time (and not neglected) despite the release of Field of Glory II: Medieval? Because it has only been quite recently that I came back to this game, and therefore hope to not see this game dying anytime soon.
The long term plan is for one more DLC to cover back to 2500BC, and of course any quality of life patches that FoGIIM sees are sure to be ported into FoGIIAncients as well. However, I believe Byzantine Games intends to finish FoGIIM before one last Ancients patch, so that'll be awhile, as I think Medieval will get around 3 DLCs. Just a best guess though.

Field of Glory II is not going to die. We are still actively fixing outstanding bugs - and as you can imagine, at this stage these are pretty obscure and trivial. And we do plan another DLC covering 2500-281 BC, but we intend to finish FOG2 Medieval coverage of Britain to India 1040-1500 first. Perhaps one day we will move further east.

Did that means Sengoku Jidai 2?
No, it meant Ancient/Medieval Far East FOG2. But don't hold your breath, nothing is planned as yet.
Nice to know! I read you will release a "crusade expansion" for Medieval too... a lot of work to do. I hope you will be able to polish the game in the meantime too.
Buon lavoro! From Italy.
