Different versions compatible?

Hi guys,

I own Fields of Glory 2 (GOG-version). I'd like to buy FOG 2 Empires. If I buy the steam or matrix-version - can I export batlles to my gog-version?

I'm near certain it will work, cross platform. But wait for me returning with 100% accurate infos!

EDIT: confirmed working! Run each game separately once though.
