A very close match. The endless hordes of Sub-roman foot and Brythonic warriors were only just held at bay by cataphract resilience, stupidly brave archers and stout legions. It was a swirling confusing battle from start to finish as I tried to hide behind a very shallow stream and the advantage swung backwards and forwards. The superior warbands were seemingly indestructible and when my legions started collapsing I thought that was the end. Fortunately the gradual attrition by the archers of the Romano British cavalry led to some timely breaks that just clinched the victory as brave troops held on in every corner of the battlefield. Honourable mention to the skirmishers in this one who fought backwards and forwards through some thick woods for most of the game. Great game, could easily have gone the other way but I got lucky with some charges against the SubRomans. Thanks Rob123.
