Whoa, Ray, those are pretty cool!

Who is shadowforge? edit: did a "view source" and got the url you pulled the images from :) Whoa, those guys are nuts, like "art" miniatures galore, ROFL.

Did you paint those yourself? I am not much of a miniatures gamer, I fear. Although I do still have my old copy of the Chainmail rules around here somewhere...

The bare-breasted slinger is cool, but would send the Fundies into a frothing-at-the-mouth frenzy. Remember that game a few years back with the blue Mermaids? Was that Giants? The puritans here in the states went into such a frenzy about that that the publisher had to cover their hooters, but it was a little file you could delete and see them in all their glory again.

I love the thinking of fundies about breasts. They figure it's OK to get dinner there for the first 6-8 months of your life, but then after that, even seeing them somehow warps a young mind beyond all redemption...

Hi!

Those photos are from the catalog of http://www.shadowforge.com.au/. The do mostly women miniatures figures.

But there are other miniatures company's that do women warriors of all kinds, especially fantasy and pulp fiction. I believe there is even a women's wargaming site, where they review PC games based on a womens perspective.

For those who think there are no women computer gamers out there, boy do you have that wrong. As I understand they mostly like fantasy RPG. And seeing as how Arena Warriors appears to be such a game, the question of women warriors being included in the game seems straightforward and logical.

It's probrably an accurate reflection of the state of the military... you don't often see women generals bombing Iraq now do you

You won't see any kind of generals bombing Iraq. That's the job of Lieutenants, Captains and Majors, for the most part ;)

I'm impressed by those miniatures. Usually, female "adventurers" are depicted as wearing little more than a g-string with or without pasties. At least since these examples are Greek-derived, there is a rational excuse for their state of limited dress. In fact, the company may have erred on the side of modesty, especially in the case of the slinger, if the paintings on old vases and wall frescos and whatnot are anything to go on...

Agreed, Shadowforge's castings are beautifully sculpted, and molded with exquisite care.

They do some superb work in 28mm, and there are industry reviews to support that statement.

Also, it's worth noting that most of the female figures are fully clad and armored.

Did you check out the centaurs under the Fantasy section?
