As I just found out in Dakar, the first scenario in Free France 1940-1945, that the new Scammell Pioneer unit may be an issue if you previously used a British Truck to transport one of these three British/Indian heavy guns:
The game designers apparently pulled out British Truck as a transport option for these units and substituted only the Scammell Pioneer. As a result, if you had provided British Truck as transport . . . :
. . . it does not show up in the game:
If this matters to you, it will be necessary to attach the Scammell Pioneer to these guns instead wherever they appear in your work, if you want them to have transportation.

Re: Custom Designer Alert: Scammell Pioneer
Now, in From Keren to Massawa, the fourth scenario, British truck is still okay for this howitzer:
Why is this? Is it because this scenario was designed later than Dakar, the first scenario?
No matter how long I play and design for OOB, I will never entirely plumb its depths.
Well, it definitely was a problem with Dakar - terminator noticed it - so I am taking no chances. Out with the Truck, in with the Pioneer.

Re: Custom Designer Alert: Scammell Pioneer
Except for one thing; an oversight that the game designers should fix.
The game seems to now require Scammell Pioneer for these three guns:
but the Scammell Pioneer unit itself is available only for the Britain faction, not India:
Suddenly, the old axiom of "Don't fix what ain't broke" is coming to mind. It applies to plumbing (especially), electricity, and game designing. If British Truck is working with BL 6-inch Howitzer (in version 9.0.0), leave it alone.
Heh, "Don't fix what ain't broke." Got to keep that in mind, here. Dakar, fixed. Keren, stet.

Hint: In Dakar, the units are placed by spawn triggers on the map, then undeployed. In Keren, the units are on the map to begin with. That could be the difference.

Good spot. Thanks, noted for my mod.
Although I'm not sure if those entries are really needed for purchase purposes...? I'll have to check.

Re: Custom Designer Alert: Scammell Pioneer
I posted in the Tech Support forum a suggestion to update units.csv accordingly to allow RAF and Indian factions the use of the Pioneer, else how are they going to transport those heavy guns?
Regarding my curiosity as to why one scenario was affected by this substitution and one was not, that undeployment factor in the first one seems to be the key. The game accepts the British Truck as transportation if it was placed on the map in a previous game version but will not "process" it if called upon to place it on the map itself.
Such are the theories concocted by the ignorant!
