Bravo!

Post by vaalen »

I have played three battles, and I am very impressed. Everything seems to look better, with really beautiful artwork on the units and maps, and play better. The tutorial is so good that you can learn to play the game just from that, with clear and well written explanations of events as they happen. I have never seen a tutorial that good. In fact, I can and have recommended the game to some millenial gamers I know, who just will never read a manual, and will only play games they can learn from a tutorial .

The game does a marvelous job of recreating the feel of the period, though graphics, game play, sound, and music.

The popups and tooltips are very well done and well written, presenting clear and useful information.

While I have only played the tutorial and a couple of custom battles so far, so this is my first impression, which could change as I get into the campaigns and epic battles, I am very happy so far.

This game appears to have been created with great care, with many subtle improvements that can only come from long experience of perfecting this game system, and with a love for the subject that is very apparent.

If Fog2 is a Gem, and it definitely is, FOG 2 Medieval appears to be a polished and superbly cut Gem.

Bravo, Richard, and thank you for this wonderful creation.

I almost never play against the AI as I usually only play multiplayer. But, I just tried out the Battle of Hastings as the Saxons on level IV and it was a very exciting struggle. I managed to win in the end but the Norman Knights were extremely tough. A really good battle that was well designed and put together. Good job to the team!

Thanks guys on behalf of myself and rest of the team.

Pat Ward is the one that made all the beautiful unit models. Richard Evans animated them. The new UI is partly their work, partly that of Koen Bekkema, who also bestirred me to improve the formatting of the various popups, tooltips and logs.

Hastings and the other Epic Battles are entirely the work of Paul Adaway.

Alessandro Ponti composed and created the fine Medievally-themed music.

There are many others who have also had a major impact on the game.

It is a team effort, and we are proud of the result. A full list of credits can be seen at the end of the manual.

And of course we have much more work ahead of us to expand the game further.

Thank you Richard, for explaining the contributions of various team members. And I am going to read the credits so I can see who else contributed to this fine work.

I expand my "Bravo" to include the entire team.

You guys have really done some fine work, and it is very much appreciated.

Regards,

Vaalen
