Stalingrad Scenerio

After completing this scenario... I did not have the option to take "the victory" route...instead had to proceed along the historical track.
The reason...the comment stated I had not completed all the Stalingrad objectives.
A review of the map showed that across the river there was a "optional" object left open...I assume that was my mistake/oversight.
However, I watched The Edmon's play thru #38...he did not cross the Volga either and still showed the same "incomplete" objective...yet he got the choice to proceed down the victory path.
What am I missing in this situation?

As a first time player...I also learned from his video...that 10,000 prestige also had to be forked over to proceed.
Again, new to this game...I'm playing on the hardest difficulty...had I "known" about 10,000 requirement at the start of my campaign...I would have dropped the challenge one notch.
Also...as a new player...when I see an objective as "optional"...I would never suspect my choices would be limited down the road in the campaign by not completing an "optional" objective.

Are this requirements highlighted in the player's manual somewhere?

You also need the bonus objectives from Moscow from 1941 to take the winning path.

I completed all the Moscow objectives.

The post at the end of the Stalingrad said "only" Stalingrad objectives. As stated b4...The Edmon did not capture the objectives in his video and advanced. I had the same conditions and did not.

you don't need to go across the river in stalingrad i got option without it you need all objectives in moscow stalingrad and have the prestige, moscow doesnt give any message to say you done it all so really need to double check on last move you have everything and no red units nip into any undefended obejectives.
