Re: Ottoman team event : Round 4
The Ottoman threat is worsening as cities across Europe and even Russia fall to their cavalry and Janissaries.
At St Gotthard the demoralised West cobble together one last army to try to hold back the tide... Failure will likely mean a Sultan on the throne in Vienna.

Re: Ottoman team event : Round 4
ahuyton's ottomans won against Tomoegozen's imperial army, 49-6.
The Imperials played aggressively, to their credit, advancing on all wings of the battlefield, On their left, a decent sized force made progress, outnumbering the small Ottoman blocking contingent, However, in the centre, my Janissaries and irregular archers used the terrain to shoot up the enemy infantry and follow up with a charge. On the Imperial right flank their cuirassiers forced their way over the river only to run into fierce shooting and flank attacks from the enemy cavalry.
It is a difficult scenario for the Imperialists I must admit.

Re: Ottoman team event : Round 4
The Ottoman forces of Sedo Pasha defeat awesum's Imperial army at St. Gotthard in a bloody battle of attrition (36-64).
Sedo's spahi's intercepted the charging cuirassiers on the Imperial right as they tried to ford the river, with the cavalry melee devolving into a indecisive stalemate. Meanwhile, despite harassment from ottoman archers, the Imperial left cavalry wing manages to ford the river and disperse the ottoman light cavalry attempting to hold a creek crossing. The ottoman position is in danger of being outflanked entirely, but Sedo manages to shift enough infantry to his right to establish a flimsy fallback position on the hill surrounding the Turkish camp.
With both flank attacks bogged down, awesum launches infantry into the woods, where they confront crack janissaries at close quarters. The decisive blow comes on the Ottoman center-left, where a combination of infantry firepower and Spahis of the Porte manage to ford the river and blow a hole in the Imperial line.

Re: Ottoman team event : Round 4
An exciting game against Sedo. My original plan was to pull back from the centre forest and hold his cavalry on my right with the cuirassiers and try to win on my left. But with the left obviously not going to be decisive enough to win and the left bogged down I got bored and decided to attack through the forests. For a while we were swapping units in the small clearing in the forests but eventually the superior quality of the Janissaries proved too great.
Well done Sedo Pasha, you played this magnificantly, a well deserved Ottoman victory.

Brilliant achievement Sedo Pasha, out foxing, out manoeuvring and out fighting the esteemed Awesum4, mighty Leader of Christendom's Imperialist Horde. The Pope will not be pleased with this defeat but the Sultan is.......many benefits will be added to your already overflowing Kaftans.
If only the Sultan's army was doing as well.

You and me both Andre. Alas, the same result. Seems Ottomans are the furniture of choice from now on!

Re: Ottoman team event : Round 4
Gribol (Ottomans) wins with Cromlechi (Imperial) 40:0
However, i think, that this battle is unfair for the Imperial side and almost impossible to win.
Maybe we will reconsider some kind of revenge, maybe even with same opponents that in this turn?
I can propose Kahlenberg 1683, a great scenario made by unforgettable Odenathus, that is much more equal.
What do you think about that?

That's a good idea, Gribol. I have a feeling that the Ottomans had the advantage for most of this event, unfortunately.gribol wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 7:20 am Gribol (Ottomans) wins with Cromlechi (Imperial) 40:0
