Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
Obviously I'm missing something here. Having embarked units from the beach, my transports now just sit on the exit points.
Do these just have to sit here and take punishment until the end of the scenario ?

Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
In general exit should occur one turn after you arrived on an exit hex, provided it's the right type (side/branch).
Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
Okay thanks, I figured as much. How about the exit points (flagged) at the top ? (North)

Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
Descriptive location names were used not to confuse matters calling those two Air Undeploy. But those who have location names turned off in options will not be able to see it at a glance.
Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
Thanks very much, everyone. Not for the first time (I've played all the OOB DLC's), I was led astray by the "flashing pointer".
I reckon it might be slightly better to only have the actual, highlighted exit hex. In some hideous colour, perhaps ...

I am still confused about the exit points. Do you sit ships to the left of the green ponters?

Thanks to this post I finally understand the confusion with this scen. It looks like the exit-hex "arrow animation" is pointing to the hex left of it....Charles Stedman wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 1:33 am I am still confused about the exit points. Do you sit ships to the left of the green ponters?

No, no, no! You have to move you units ONTO the hex with the box-like symbol (and the tiny arrow).

Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
I have another question, but since it is about the same scenario, I decided to post it here. As far as I understand it is impossible to deploy units after the deployment phase, so you can't replenish your forces (except for planes). This makes perfect sense historically of course, but I wonder how this works in regard to game mechanics. I always thought, the ability to deploy depends solely on the command points / supply. Since this is not the case, is there any way to tell before buying a unit?

Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
You can re-deploy land units during the mission on flagged city/town/village hexes if you have enough land-CP and supply available.
Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
I think that's not it. I started the scenario yesterday without deploying any unit, and after the deployment phase I couldn't deploy them at any city and all these cities are flagged, right? Flagged cities are the cities you have in your possession at the begin of the scenario or for more than three turns, i.e. when the flag goes all the way to the top, right? Or do I somewhat misunderstand the concept.GabeKnight wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 5:42 amYou can re-deploy land units during the mission on flagged city/town/village hexes if you have enough land-CP and supply available.
Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
A recent patch added a new concept of "no-deploy" hexes, for use in exactly this sort of position, where the player should not be able to deploy new units into locations that the game mechanics would usually allow.
Re: Allies Defiant : Dunkirk
That makes sense and is a great addition to the system. Is there a way to tell, which hexes are no-deployment hexes, before trying to deploy units?
