Ah, gotcha. Missed the result when I was looking back through the thread to look for it. It looks like your score has been entered in Karvon's table but not mine.Rob123 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 11:02 amThe results are listed on page 9. Both of these matches were losses for me - but I don't have the scores handy at the moment. I can go dig them up, more than likely, or perhaps those two might show up with the final results.

TomoeGozen (Ostrogothic 493-561 AD) defeats General Shapur (Roman 105-25 BC) 57 - 23.
The Romans were tough to kill but the manouverability of the mounted Ostrogoths eventually allowed us to wear the Romans down once their flanks were exposed.
Thanks to General Shapur for a good game. It was a tough matchup for the Romans on a fairly open battlefield.
The above result from page 7 has been missed , easy for me to notice with so few wins to report ..
Thanks,
Dave

Kerait (Lysimachid) defeats bomber23 (Palmyran) 58 - 32
Phalanxes and Lysimachid medium foot overcame the heavy Roman legionaries and super-heavy cataphracts on open ground through various flanking maneuvers. It took a fair while to finish the game as cataphracts rumbled all over the map. It was a fun game, GG bomber23!

TGM Bosphorans defeats Snugglebunnies Visigoths 44-60%
A swirling panzer fight near Kursk, with infantry platoons running from cover to cover to try and get flanks shots on the heavies without being pressed into the mud. Great game, somewhat surprised I won!

Captain Savage (Cimmerian) defeats Aetius (Macedonian) 56:30
I started very well as the Cimmerians and trashed all the Macedonian Cavalry and a lot of the skirmishers early on. Some of my cav started getting trapped by the Macedonian infantry and others were discombobulated by the elephant that I almost killed. The Elephants kept shaking off any disruptions and held firm for long enough to play havoc with my plans for flank and rear attacks. The game almost ran out of time when I decided enough was enough and started charging home rather than evading and shooting. Almost on the last turn when I finally managed to get a clear enough margin of casualties to clinch the win. Helped by a little bit of a chain rout as brave Cimmerian cavalry charged across rough ground in what could have been a suicidal charge but shook the already denuded Macedonian medium infantry into a broken state.
Very challenging game, lots of fun.
Conan would have been proud.

Mirror Match
Aetius39 (Elamites) defeats random27 (Roman) 62-35
Interesting because we both thought the Romans would have a great advantage over the Elamites, but that wasn't the case here. Firstly, the map had a lot of rough terrain and hills close to where the Elamites started out, so they could get into a decent defensive position. The other was their massive advantage in cavalry/chariots. That helped to make the Elamites so much more mobile than the Romans. Especially when units regained cohesion, the Elamite chariots could easily go after and break them again, but not for the Romans. GG and thanks for playing random!^^
