flank march custom matches

I'm playing the AI with Hotseat on. The game keeps telling me I've sent 9 units on flank march on an open battle. How do I disable this or stop it happening in the first place? I do not want or asked for a flank march.

I presume you mean that it does so for the side that would be the "AI" side if you weren't playing Hot Seat.

It would make no sense to have an "Enemy Send a Flank March" scenario, because then there would be no surprise, which would rather defeat the point. Instead, the AI side will randomly choose to send a flank march sometimes (10% chance).

I am afraid that the ability to play SP scenarios "Hot Seat" is a bonus rather than part of the primary scenario design, so the same thing happens in Hot Seat battles against the AI.

Now we could make it that it won't happen in Hot Seat mode, but some people might actually like it, and so we would need to take a vote. Adding an option to suppress it in Hot Seat mode would be another possibility, but would clutter the UI, which is something we need to take into account. (There are all sorts of minority Options that we could add, this would be one of many potential additions).

And when all is said and done, it will only happen in 10% of battles.

What you say makes sense. More of a minor inconvenience than anything else. The hot seat change was spot on , so can't complain. I just ended up starting a new game. As you said, this time no flank march. Not a priority.
