It has been quite a challenging exercise to allocate divisions in this section for the current season. Only 14 out of the 36 players who entered last time have returned, and the figures for the top 2 divisions are just 2 out of 12 players returning. Given this is the situation I have had to use the FOG2DL ratings a bit more than I usually would to form up the new divisions. Ordinarily the previous season's league tables would be the main determinant but that method has broken down to a considerable extent this time, although I have still relegated players who came bottom of their division in Season 9.

Instructions

Please note: armies are 1600 points for all matches in this section.

Matches in this section are played to a tighter schedule and must be prioritised above matches from other sections. Please start all your group stage matches at the latest by Sunday February 21st and finish them by Sunday March 14th. . The knock-out matches will be allowed around 17/18 days for completion. Unfinished matches will be subject to adjudication.

Paired games ("mirror matches") are now used throughout this section of the tournament. Groups will now consist of just 3 players and the winner of each group will progress to the semi-final knock-out stage.

Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

For matches in this section players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Large" army (1600 points) and choose a "Wide" battlefield unless otherwise directed. Players are free to customise their army before each battle so "Default" is the correct Force Selection option. Terrain will always be "Pot Luck" unless otherwise specified. There are no exceptions to this standard set-up for a match. If a match is set-up incorrectly for any reason then it must be re-started as soon as possible.

The final % scores for each player are taken from the in-battle display in the top left-hand corner of the screen and not the Final Losses screen that appears after the battle has ended where losses are adjusted for wounded and deserted troops.

Reporting the result of a match is the responsibility of the winning player. However, if you are the loser in a match and notice that the result has not been posted within 24 hours please post the result yourself. This helps to keep the league tables up to date.

Where players finish with the same number of points at the end of the group stage, the points aggregate from the matches between those player will be used to decide the final places in the group table. If this does not separate the players then lots will be drawn to determine which player(s) proceed to the next stage of the competition.

Just to point out a common mistake some players are making with their army selections . . . for example, if you used a Roman army with Jewish allies in Season 9 then you cannot use Roman or Jewish army choices in Season 10, either as one of your main army selections or as your choice as allies.

Please note: the default size for armies is 1200 points in this section; matches may be played at 1600 points only if both players agree. All matches must be set up as "mirror matches" (not as two individual matches).

Either player may set up the challenge in this section. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

For matches in this section players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Medium" army (1200 points) and choose a "Medium" battlefield unless both players have stated a preference for playing at 1600 points. For 1600pt battles players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Large" army and choose a "Wide" battlefield. Players are free to customise their army before each battle so "Default" is the correct Force Selection option. Terrain will always be "Pot Luck" unless otherwise specified. If a match is set-up incorrectly for any reason then it must be re-started as soon as possible.

Players will need to have the base game, the Immortal Fire and the Rise of Persia DLC's. The TT Mod will no longer be used in this section.

The final % scores for each player are taken from the in-battle display in the top left-hand corner of the screen and not the Final Losses screen that appears after the battle has ended where losses are adjusted for wounded and deserted troops.
