It is more practical to place defenders west of the Voronezh hex. In that way, the road is still blocked. In Voronezh everything will perish because of the close quarter combat and because it can be attacked from several direction.

Hey hey, I had time to take a more detailed look at this aar...trying hard to avoid spoilers...

But this has me curious.

Are you saying that in 44 my units will lose 3 exp every turn? and start losing -5 in 45? That sucks...I have been wondering if I am gaining experience in 42 as some units seem to gain even though they are not fighting.

Is that -3 for all experience levels or does it increase decrease with the amount of stars you have?

It impacts your planes (especially fighters) as pilot training was reduced over the course of the war, mainly due to the high number of losses and fuel shortages... so new pilots were deployed quickly/without enough training... therefore the experience of these units dropped. Plus even flight instructors were deployed to combat operations (so less training capacity available).

I think it is minus 3 experience points per turn in 44 and minus 5 per turn in 45... regardless (!) of how much experience you have to start with... I think it says somewhere in the mod or on the forum as well

So if you have 3 stars at the beginning of 44, it will be something like 300 experience points minus 3 experience points per turn, so 297, then 294, then 291 and so on... if you have 1 star, it's 100 minus 3 per turn, so 97, 94, 91 and so on...

In 45 it continues with minus 5... but the year of 45 is also shorter :lol: :shock:

This is my humble understanding, hope it's correct. McGuba and/or Uhu may know better...

Pete is right about the xp loose system oof the airforce.
In previous screenshots I sill saw un-upgraded panzers like Pz35, Pz38. Why no upgrade? They would be much more potent even as PzIII (...and soon as Panther A). It is because not enough prestige?
I always rename my hero units already at the start, like 34. GebJäger +2A, and also the arty like 4. Arty (horse+), or 7. PzGren (Mot-7)
