I'm looking at some of my favorite unit types and how they modeled in this game. I found a thread that says "they can move in snow and mud normally." When I look at the unit traits I can't find anything that would indicate that. Am I missing something? I think that statement is accurate because they do cost more than regular infantry. Do they have any other unique traits?
Thanks.

Re: Gebirgsjager.
What you are missing is the concept of "chassis" which is not evident to the player. Take a look at the various chassis.csv files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Slitherine\Order of Battle - WWII\Order of Battle - WW2_Data\Content\Data.
Gebirgsjäger are classified as "ski" in the "chassis" column of units.csv. This tells the game to look in the "ski" row in the chassis.csv files. Currently there are four of these files that correspond to the four climate types in OOB: Default, Winter, Wet, and Arid.
Among other things, what the chassis.csv files do is to determine how many movement points it costs for a unit with a certain chassis type to move into a hex with a certain terrain in a particular climate. While Gebirgsjäger and other ski troops always have a movement advantage in mountains and forest in Default, Wet, and Arid climates, in the Winter climate, those advantages are enhanced and they also have a bit of an advantage in open and farmland hexes:
That's how it works. While somebody may have said "they can move in snow and mud normally," (maybe not "normally"; not everybody knows what he is talking about here all the time, including yours truly), their skis do provide them with movement bonuses in these situations.

...and it's a really good one, too.
Detailed stuff like this should have their own "stickie" Mod-Knowledgebase-Thread or something...

Re: Gebirgsjager.
That's a great idea. I saw a chart in a thread that had weather/climate effects on a units' movement. If someone can start a "stickie" that would be a great addition to it. I have no idea who is able start a "stickie"
