Settings for Graphics and Elsa Kloss

Post by wecker »

Hello and a happy new year to everyone,

during the holidays I found a lot of time to play Panzer Corps 2 and the AO40 DLC.

Many thanks for this pleasure.

I have two questions:

- Graphic Settings / Options
I am a little bit old and I don`t know for shure what certain settings will cause / look like. As an example: I don`t know exactly what "Anti-Aliasing" means. Is it better to keep this low or high?
Maybe you could add an explanation when you hover with the mouse above these entries - or you could even write a short guide :D

- Elsa Kloss
I am eagerly awaiting Elsa Kloss, but when will she come? I read something like she would appear in the Czech training scenario.
I am now fighting for Lille. I won all optional and obligatory victory conditions in every scenario until now.
Am I missing something? Is there a hidden trigger or cash? How many commendation points do I need? I took the Neubaufahrzeug - should I deny this vehicle?

Thank you.

Elsa should have been one of the options available during the Czech training scenario.

There was an old issue where Fornebu wasn't giving CP so you didn't get the Elsa offer, but that was patched late last year.

Hello Kerensky,

thank you for the information.

I use the Steam Installation 1.1.15 with FM Edition and all DLCs.

I finished Fornebu in time with all optional points (saving the Blücher, conquering all norwegian flags in Oslo, killing off the Bunker in the northwest and landing with Paras on the Island).

What should I kill of first? The bunker in the North-West at 5,2 or the Victory hex in Sandvika?

I cannot conquer them simultanously?

I also receive in the training mission the "Heulende Kuh" new arty - but Elsa is not triggered.

I receive a normal hero because of the Killer Trait, some fancy 1 HP-units like the V1 and so on in Dresden and that`s it.

Sad. Elsa would perfectly fit the new Werferunit.

Thank you for some advice.

Hi all,

thank God - Elsa is finally on my side.

The game was always over when I destroyed the last bunker at 5,2 while not taking the last victory hex.

But an explanation for the settings would be nevertheless very helpful :D

Aliasing is the stair stepping you often get with computer graphics. So if you're trying to draw a diagonal black line on a white screen, it will look jagged because of the contrast between the bright and dark, square pixels.

Anti-aliasing tries to reduce this by reducing that contrast. At lower resolutions this can make the graphics look a little blurred. But at higher resolution the result is a smoother pictures that is easier on the eye. It reduces what is called scintillation .. a shimmering caused by the movement of high contrast pixels. It can cause headaches and eye strain.

Anti-aliasing is achieved in a number of ways and at a number of different stages of the images creation. But in this case, the higher the Anti-Aliasing number, the more anti-aliasing is applied. This comes at a cost since depending on your card or the techniques employed, it takes a proportional amount of extra graphics resources the more anti-aliasing is applied.

For most modern graphics cards this is relatively easy to achieve. But if you're using an old computer or an onboard, laptop GPU, then you're going to struggle.

Start off with the lowest setting and then increase it and see if it affects performance. For some setting you may need to save them and restart the game in order for the it to take hold.

This question and answer page is quite informative ..
