Ok my mistake. Then there is advantages to having an earlier order declaration after all.

Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
No probs. Rules are not very straightforward. (For example, I will not be able to make any conquest attack at all, since my sole province is already a defender province from olin0111's attack earlier this round.)
Much better!

The Visigoths of Baetica XXI will march in conquest upon the Suevians of Gallaecia XX. They look traitorous to me.
Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
Here is a suggestion for the 'entering your move' phase.
How about players PM the next player in the list when they have posted their action, would save us all checking the thread to see if it has reached our turn to post.

Foreign invasion: Persia attacks East Rome. Attacker province: XXXII Persia. Defender province: XVI Oriens.
(Since my/Franks' (only) province is under attack and thus already a defender province, I cannot do any conquest attacks of my own. Many other provinces are already included in attacks as attacker or defender provinces, so not available for other types of attacks either.)

I am in the same position, and was going to do that.Foreign invasion: Persia attacks East Rome. Attacker province: XXXII Persia. Defender province: XVI Oriens.

Thus Suevians do nothing this turn.
Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
Is that an option? No attack of any type? Couldnt you conduct a minor faction raid attack upon a major faction rival that you plan to attack next turn. You could possibly lower their force points making your next attack easier?tyronec wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:30 amI am in the same position, and was going to do that.Foreign invasion: Persia attacks East Rome. Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
Good point, Mad: if any attack declaration is possible that involves at least one player's major faction, it should be made.
I believe for example that Sabir Huns could do a foreign invasion upon East Rome. Check that out, Tyrone, or other alternatives.

Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
So province XXI is attacking XX that means that the minor faction in XXVI cannot do a raid upon XXI correct? So he would conduct a raid on another major that he had a "dislike" for & just wanted to weaken for next round? Maby the force point penalty should be greater on raids to provide more incentive to conduct this type of attack? Or a bonus force point to the major player upon conducting a successful raid as well.kronenblatt wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 11:07 amGood point, Mad: if any attack declaration is possible that involves at least one player's major faction, it should be made.

Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
You could perhaps justify a force point addition to the player major for having partially funded the raid & received spoils of war loot from that successful raid.
Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
Plus the nation that is raided risks losing his CC in defending against the raid correct?
Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
Sabir Huns (Alania) raid E Rome (Pontica).
You should have attacked Pontica with Persia and then I would have been really up the creek !

Re: The West is No More (476 AD) - Tournament 1
On the contrary: that's actually why I attacked Oriens, to make it possible for you to have fun in a Sabir Hun foreign invasion upon Pontica.

Please note the following
- Battles are resolved simultaneously during a three-week period of Jan. 15 - Feb. 6.
- The defender creates the challenge and reports the battle results (see Battles in the rules): who's victor and loser (if any), always specifying the incurred casualties and whether any faction's C-in-C fell in battle.
- Make sure you have The West is No More v1 mod downloaded and installed (available in-game*).
- When setting up the challenge in-game, in Multiplayer Lobby under My Challenges, through pressing New Challenge and then Create Skirmish, choose Select Another Module, mark The West is No More v1 and click LAUNCH. The factions can now be chosen for the battle.
- All battles are 24 turns and uses Remove the Head (i.e., the battle will end also when one side’s C-in-C falls in battle with that side becoming the loser), but all other other battle characteristics (force points, map size, map terrain and who chooses it) depends on the attack type (see Types of Attacks in the rules) and the defender province in which the battle takes place.
- No map re-rolls are allowed.
