Please note that this match was set up on Jan 3rd but I forgot to post it or
send a PM.
I have been unable to create any skirmish for the past 4 days. I keep getting
server error messages so I was unable to set up our regular match. I have seen this problem before
and it usually goes away, but I don't know when.

Div 1
rbodleyscott (Apulian) defeated TomoeGozen (Rhoxolani) 62:38.
A tough game in which things looked black for the Apulians after the initial round of Rhoxolani charges. However, eventually the Apulian meat grinder got to work, and eventually the Rhoxolani ran out of steam.

Re: Chaos Tourney V
Regular Division 2
rs2excelsior (Spanish (Iberian) 300-10 BC) beat wmpryor (Viking 900-1049 AD) 42-10
I was expecting a rather tough battle. I had a medium foot army against one with strong heavy infantry, and my cavalry was slightly outclassed (superior armored light spear vs superior protected light spear). I took up positions in two patches of rough ground with my warbands and some supporting mediums in the space in between, deployed my cavalry to the flanks, and went all in on light foot and horse. I figured my only hope would be to disrupt the viking line on the approach (and harrass/flank charge damaged units towards the end of the game with my light troops).
The key were the two cavalry fights, each 2v2. On the right, my swarm of light horse managed to disrupt both viking horse on the approach. One got caught and defeated in melee, the disruption more than making up for the armor advantage, while the other managed to evade but was pursued by my own horse until they were fragmented by javelins and charged by my own pursuing heavy cav, when they broke. On the left it was more of a straight up fight, but with no viking infantry opposing my mediums on that side I was able to advance them out of the rough ground to help. One of the viking horse broke, and my own pursuing cavalry flanked charged a unit of berserkers and then huscarls in the same turn, just in time to save a Spanish warband that was in severe trouble. Elsewhere, I'd had some success defending my rough ground, and though my center was in trouble in a couple of places, that cavalry flank charge on my left and the aftermath managed to tip things over before the vikings could push through.
The battlefield at the end: Good game to my opponent - I didn't say it in the game chat (because I honestly didn't realize their army was at the break point!) so I'll say it here. Well played, and I'll see you next time!

Regular Division 1
TomoeGozen (Jewish 163 - 111 BC ) defeats Delbruck (Carthaginian 235 -146 BC ) 63-41.
The Jewish forces got off to a great start , building a really good early lead in the rough terrain on their right flank but the Carthaginians bravely fought their way back in to it once the elephants got involved in the centre! Only the 'fight to the last man' attitude of the zealots kept the Jewish army in the game...
Thanks to Delbruck for a great game.

Re: Chaos Tourney V
Sorry about that, but after the 4th turn of the game since the new year I got too many orders and had no time to play. So I accept the loss in both games. Funny because you deleted the game about 2-3 hours before I was planning to make my move.
Re: Chaos Tourney V
Remember, unlike some of the other tournaments, such as the official ones, we do not have a time limit for individual games; as long as you finish by the tournament deadline, speed of play is not required.CyberHetman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 11:12 pmSorry about that, but after the 4th turn of the game since the new year I got too many orders and had no time to play. In the future, per DL rules, do not automatically end a stalled game without first contacting me and giving me a chance to get a hold of the MIA player. As we started during the holiday season, some folks are away are rather busy at the start of the year.

Would suggest these games are not scored. It is fine by me to not play a game if it doesn't work for my opponent - this is meant to be fun, not a burden.tyronec wrote: ↑10 Jan 2021 09:48
